Hi, if I were to connect my ipod to my new laptop, would itunes rip all the songs off the ipod and store them? Or would I need to move all the songs manually from my pc to the laptop?

Thanks

Nope, itunes won't do it for you.
You'll need a 3rd party app

Use Sharepod (free!) to copy them from your iPod to any folder you like. Then drop the folder into iTunes.

Ahh, I use the manually manage function so I just plug it into any computer I like. I don't use playlists either (except on-the-go and recently added) as everything is correctly tagged.
