everytime i shut down my computer and then restart it and open itunes i get the message "itunes has detected it is not the default player for audio files"

so i then set this as my default player and save it, but the next time i start itunes i get the same message.

any ideas as to how to stop this and make itunes my permanent defaut player?

restart your computer, go to control panel(classic view) click on default programs

Associate a file type or protocol with a program, file the extension .mp3, see what program its associated with and if its not itunes and change it for itunes.

Next select set program access and computer defaults in default programs. click the drop down arrow on "non-Microsoft" you will see a sub heading "Media Player" see which program has the "enable access" if its not itunes, change it to itunes.
