#15

#17
Well done - always good to be getting a salary :)

Can I show my ignorance and ask what a personal shopper is?
#18
lol thanks again

Its a person who collects numerous shopping lists that people have made using .com on tesco,
we go around all the asiles filling all the green trays with the customers orders, then we pack them off for the vans
#19
i assumed the normal staff did that, I didnt realise there were seperate people!
#20
Congratulations saxo

Nah you get loads of positions, the more your able to do the more multitasked you get,

Trolley boy, checkouts, freezer filler, personal shopper, bakery, cleaner, fruit and veg, wines and spirits etc etc

it is generally staff but there is different departments that people are situed for !
#22
That must be fascinating; I love looking at what people buy.

Especially interesting is the way that some will buy the "value" products for certain items and expensive branded items for others. I've never understood the rationale.

wines and spirits etc etc

That would be the ideal post for me :giggle:

Me too - I'm not knocking the value range, just wondering how people determine what is good to spend money on and where to save. EG people buying value cornish pasties and expensive pork pies etc.

I'm just naturally inquisitive I suppose and notice such things :)
#27
i go by trial and error, i will try it but on some things its just a no no, like washing powder, i wouldnt use value
#28
Wahey, thats me now starting back in my old job at the call centre on Tuesday and i go live the week after,
So if anyone calls up about there shopping from here you might get ....Me !!! lol

Im doing Clubcard and .com (which i did before) and now there is direct to learn (white goods etc)
#29
:giggle: I am often on the phone to tesco.com regarding the shopping, dont worry though because I am very nice on the phone :giggle:
#30
yeh its only the auld grannis and really posh people that are a nightmare, they think Tesco owes them a favour
#31
Congrats mate, sorry i'm a bit late on the subject :(

I assumed personal shoppers would select items that's in storage, not actually from the aisles themselves.... does that mean you pick up items from the front that's about to go off or do you select from the back for longer expiration dates?

P.S keep us upto date with all the Tesco codes mate hehe.

Congrats once again :)

They are SUPPOSED to choose the stuff that is freshest or has the longest date, not all of them do though (good to get refunds though :giggle:)

All items from frozen and fresh or veg etc should all be chosen with a long shelf life, unlike Organic stuff which doesnt have a long life.

yes the pickers are meant to pick the freshest and best but this doesnt always happen as there might just be one item on the shelf, everything is done first thing in the morning tho so all should be on the shelfs from nightshift filling them,

There is also deliverys in the afternoons and evening.....so make what you will from that !
what i say is get your shopping delivered in the morning as you know you will get the best  later on in the day and it may not be so good and fresh as the mornings

Good tip there mate, will make sure never to make my order in the evenings then.

We normally get our orders delivered for around lunch time, so we don't have to wake up first thing in the morning and we've got food ready for lunch if we're planning on chilling over the weekend.

A driver actually told us to get it delivered in the afternoon, as the ones for the morning deliverys are usually picked before the new stock is on the shelves. I think it is correct because we hardly have any substitutes now and the food has later dates
#36
nah Kelly. honestly the best is in the morning lol iv done it

All the stock and i mean everything is fresh as its all filled by nightshift, all fruit and veg and bakery etc come in about 5am and get filled as soon as it comes in.
#37
Maybe it depends on the store - I know it is better for us getting it in the afternoon.

Plus, we have seen them putting the stuff on the shelves and is usually about 9:30/10am
#38
I worked as a picker in Tescos for a while - I was really slow lol.
#39
lol did you not speed up? its so easy with all the different symbols (triangle, squares, circle, wavey lines, the arrow)
