i sold a ps3 controller and despite buyer not wanting to pay for recorded delivery i sent it recorded anyway 15 days later a paypal dispute went in i instantly sent rec reciept to royal mail with claim form they sent me back a letter stating buyer refused to cooperate with them and wouldnt return a freepost form so they assume the items been delivered when i informed them the buyer has since opened an item not recieved dispute they informed me they think he may be a fraudulant buyer despite sending postage reciept and royal mails letter to paypal they said unless rm can prove its been delivered they have to refund buyer they cant work on rms assumption so now rm refuse to refund me any claim because buyer wont cooperate and paypal have refunded buyer money because they cant work on assumptions so i not only lost out on postage which rm wouldnt even offer refund i lost out on payment by buyer to mods i havent named buyer so havent broke rules by the way royal mail didnt obtain a signature but say this doesnt matter as buyer must have recieved item otherwise he would have responded

You sent recorded? So there's a signature right???

And why did you send the stuff to RM? Give it to paypal!

Paypal are so one sided its crazy.

Just an off shoot on the recorded delivery thing, i have had 3 or 4 items that were sent to me recorded over the past month just pushed through my letterbox with the normal mail . Not knocked door for signature, still had all the complete sticker attached !

This isn't Paypal's fault...............it's the Royal Mail.

They obviously didn't obtain a signature so they will have to pay compo.

You payed for a signed for service, they didn't get a signature so are entitled to replacement cost. They can't wriggle out of it..........if they refuse then small claims court. Get your lost money back plus costs.

Forward them the e-mail from your buyer saying it hasn't arrived and the paypal decision etc. Call the manager. Royal Mail will have to pay for it unless they can prove it has arrived as all the evidence points towards the fact that they lost it ATM.

Don´t you just love the grammar?

Take deep breath and explain what the problem is please.

does not sound like the buyers fault tho, RM should refund you in full as they cant prove it has been delivered

all the buyer had to do was say he hadnt recieved the item like he had said to paypal and rm would have refunded me

I hate stories like this

Good luck, go for compo through RM
#16
yeah i know but end of the day its not down to the buyer is it, he might have been away on holiday or RM may not have sent out the letter, you have proof it hasnt been delivered as they have no signature

im in this process atm rm failed to get signiture for an item sent recorded.........their new process which isnt across the board as yet as it seems to depend on who answers your call and deals with your claim.

basically they are sending forms out to the recipients asking them to sign it that they have not received the item......

absolute joke.......also had a problem with special delivery not being delivered and rm suggesting i sent an empty envelope and that they want to see the original tickets that were sent......if they were delivered when they should of been ie not a day late then i wouldnt be making the claim in the first place.......they wanted the recipient to send them the original tickets(try getting someone peeved off they didnt get their tickets in time to send em to rm when you refunded them already).........i went off at them accusing me of fraud, she hung up.....rang back spoke to a manger and sent a cheque in the post straight away......

sack the lot of them and replace them with bloody monkeys

I know this a week old thread but paypal are such ***** i sold something on ebay a couple of weeks ago and the buyer left me positive feedback yet they have done a dispute of not receiving the item. On top of that paypal are saying if i don't send supporting evidence within 10 days they will refund the buyer in which case your F****d if you had gone on holiday.

Yes, I've had a few deliveries like this in the last couple of weeks too.

The end result is the sender pays for a service they do not receive & the signature is not gained so it cannot be proven if the item(s) arrived; as demonstrated with stuntman9883's case.

I too have had problems with PayPal not taking my side (as a seller) previously as the Royal Mail could not provide a signature but claimed the item had been delivered.

I also ended up losing both the item & refunding the money to the buyer.

I didn't use PayPal for almost a year afterwards but unfortunately my single stand didn't mean their dominance of the market dwindled & they didn't go out of business as a result.

It is getting to a point, though, that I'm favouring just trading between parties I have dealt with before & I know I can trust (to send or receive items) without causing any problems.

I empathise with your predicament, stuntman9883, & I'm sorry but I don't think there is a great deal you can do about it (given my past experience). After 4 months of dispute with telephone conversations, e-mails, and snail-mail letters to/from PayPal & the Royal Mail I didn't get anywhere. I just wrote off the funds & learned from it.

I know it is not helpful... but at least you know it isn't just you who has this problem.

BFN,

fp.

I hate Paypal with a vengeance, in fact they are the reason I gave up ebaying....................but.....................I can't see how Paypal can be blamed for the examples above ??

Reading through it seems to me that R.M. are the guilty party here ? Looks like someone in R.M. has decided to take a tough line with claims and overstepped the mark.
They obviously don't think anyone will be bothered to test case their actions and until someone does I assume they'll carry on ripping off genuine claimants.

Another nail in the coffin of Royal Mail as we knew it, too busy trying to sell insurance and the like rather than sort out the abysmal postal service.
