Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez Gets A Goal In His United Debut...!!!

With a neat finish, Lobbing the keeper, he beat the offside trap ( To be fair he was offside ) But still finished it very well.

United beat MLS allstars 5-2 with goals from Mecheda x2, Gibson, A beautiful Gazza flick over defender goal from Cleverley and Chicharito ( As Hernadez is going to be called ).

The future looks bright for the new boy, Looks like we've got too many strikers now.

Rooney, Berbatov, Mecheda, Cleverley, Welbeck, Diouf, Chicharito.

yeah to many strikers i mean these are world beaters so much experience Mecheda, Cleverley, Welbeck, Diouf, Chicharito.

Andreas Weimann got 2 the other night for villa what a superstar he will be.

You should already know about Kiko's talent, They'll gain experience by playing, Not going to be a bad bench, All of them can change games.

Chicharito will be the fastest player in the Premiership for example, Already proved he's a good finisher in World Cup and replicating that against America's best.

MLS Allstars is a combination of the best players in the MLS if you didn't know.

Get rid of Welbeck. Get £4m for him. I don't rate him at all.

Yer but he'll come on again and pull a muscle after 5 mins

He's been good pre season, Looking promising, I wasn't too impressed with him before, However maybe he's improved?

Perhaps loan him.

Maybe so, Don't care if he never plays again, He scored that all important goal against city oh and Carling Cup final before he pulled his hamstring.

Owen was a bargain even if he only plays 5-6 games a season you know he'll always score goals.

If he was that good he would be playing more.

Macheda and Hernandez are going to have a great few seasons.

I am happy with Berbatov. Just not happy with his price.

To compare, Keane cost Liverpool £25m. He was worth £15m less than that as was Berbatov.

I'd tend to agree with you their, Mecheda and Hernandez certainly look that bit more promising and Welbeck and Cleverley look more average and a bit hit and miss, however both could become excellent strikers and Welbeck's been playing on the wing lately and looked impressive.

Cleverley's goal yesterday was fantastic and would be sad to see either go long term, I think Cleverley and Welbeck should go on loan. Wouldn't want either sold because I think their both capable, Just need a little more consistency but that comes with experience.

Yeah, but if they send them out on loan they need to be loaned to a Premiership club. You dont want them establishing themselves in the Championship.

Initially I thought United needed a new striker but they dont. They need a creative midfielder and a right back.

Berbatov's good, He just tends to drift off, tries to play like Rooney, drops too deep and looks lethargic, It's very rare he loses possession, He needs to play as a lone striker with one role and that is to score goals.

We were both wrong, it was £20.3m (basic £19m and £1.3m for compensation) and Tottenham bought him back for £12m rising to (£16m but that never will) so a maximum loss of £8.3m plus wages.

Anyway, that wasn't the point. The point was that transfers within the Premier League are extortionate and inflated.

Looking back, it was actually a £3m loss on Keane (£18m / £15m, from the released figures) :), but going to your other point, I agree transfer fees are ridiculous.

Saying that though, other then City, I can't see anyone else spending big this summer (although Chelsea might need to after their 5-1 loss to Wycombe tonight :D)

I don't know tbh.... when Madrid had their 'Galactico' era (Zidane and Figo signing especially) transfer fees were rocketing.... but then they dropped a bit until Abramovich started spending - in some ways he gave the transfer market a bit of a boost.

I can see the same happening again tbh (although to compare City's 'Quite Goods' with Real's 'Galacticos' is a bit of a joke.

Their new signing looks quite good though

He's got an excellent cross on him oO
