Paid in full to travel republic for flights with Jet 2 and just gone to book in online for 2 people. The flight is half empty but if I don't pay £6.99 each person each way they are not going to allocate seats next to one another. There are 16 empty rows with 6 seats in each row
How tight is that?

LS are a low fares carrier. You pay for the extras you need/want.
#3
What I am annoyed at is that Travel Republic did not indicate that Jet 2 would want paying as well to sit together. If the plane was full then I could understand it.

Do you go into a restaurant just before it closes and ask to have the food they are about to throw away for free?

So you would go into a restaurant, have a meal and ask if you can have another for free?

Wow.

I thought most airlines charged for booking seats. They do when you book a package and easyjet wanted to charge me for it last year. I just turn up on the day and take pot luck. Never had a problem yet and there's three of us. Just get there a bit earlier and you should be ok.

Dear JFK
Should've gone to Specsavers!
If you read my post before coming on with smart ar*e comments you would have seen that

There are 16 empty rows with 6 seats in each row

so what I am saying is WHY CAN'T THEY GIVE ME 2 SEATS ON ANY OF THESE ROWS?
Thanks for all your help, I hope I can repay it in someway soon

Thanks at last someone who understands/sympathises. I know most charge but maybe Travel Republic should be more up front about any extras?

Just ignore JFK - he's just trying to wind you up. He thinks hes a bit of a wit but he's only half way there

gosh they are going to such lengths to make ppl pay such a little extra now...

you decide what you wanna do hon... it's just a little amount to share the journey with someone...

but then it's the principle, makes you go ARGH. I can understand if you just take pot luck and enjoy the journey separate

Whatever you do, enjoy your holiday sweetie x x

most do if you want guaranteed seats together
#16
cant you just sit in empty seats once boarded?

Charter airlines have been charging to have guaranteed seats next to eachother for years.

Wham, wham, wham - my £30 flight is actually going to cost £44.

You should travel first class like me then you wouldn't have this 'problem'.

Dont spend any more dude, they will just tell you to sit where ever there are free seats anyway. trust me, flown jet2 loads. even if they try to make you sit seperatly at take off, you can just move around then anyway but every one i've been on, you just find a seat when you board!

sorry - whats the point of this thread?

are you actually moaning that a budget airline wants to charge you for extra stuff? airlines have been charging for years to pre-book designated seats onboard

Easyjet / Ryanair dont even allocate you a seat.

the solution is simple - ask at check-in if they can allocate you seats next to each other. if not and there are spare seats on board just move when you get on

stop moaning about nothing

just move when u get on board.
