As you know for the 3 or so months before I started Uni I was signing on, and when I moved they wrongfully closed my claim as non attendance despite having records on the system of me coming in.

I have been really busy but 3 weeks ago applied for backdating and complained.

I hear nothing back and am about to phone when the postie brings a letter around.

I open it up and see a letter confirming how much I get paid and payment made on the 18th

I phone up and they have paid me from when the claim was wrongfully closed in August to now which is 2 months money!

I was only due a months, so I rang back and line just rang and 5 minutes later a security guard answered, I rang back the main switchboard and was told to phone the decision line, I phone that and it says number changed.

Its lucky im honest lol

Lol cant believe they are making it hard to pay cash back that they overpaid lol

Personally I think you did a good thing, otherwise it would be like the CSA, in 10 years time you would get a letter telling you that you owed £100, with 10 years of interest which makes your payment of £100,000,000 due immediately.

Watch out as they will do you for benefit fraud.

I had a similar thing 2 years ago, when I was out of work for a couple of months. I applied for council tax rebate, and heard nothing back from it, a few weeks after applying I found work and thought nothing more of it. 6 months later I get a letter telling me I was being investigated for fraud and that I have to attend an interview on a set date, where I might be arrested and even face imprisonment!!!

I didn't even know I had received the benefit!!

They don't know their a*se from their elbow, and couldn't organise a p*ss up in a brewery. However all the thousands of employees they have hired to investigate benefit fraud are also in this same category. And rather than actually catching all the wasters and dolites that permanently live on the system rather than getting off their a*se to do a days work, they spend their efforts concentrating on stitching up decent hardwroking people that have just found themselves in hard times for a short while and need a helping hand.

I got a letter asking me to go in for an interview on a Friday to see if they could help me get back to work.

I phoned them and explained that I was starting work on the following Monday and there was no point in attending the interview.

The idiot on the other end ask 'did I want to go in for a chat anyway'. ::thinking:
