I would like him at Liverpool, but he will go to United.

joe cole - arsenal
stevie g - real madrid
torres - chelsea or will money talk and go man city - my money is on chelsea

dont care where ballack goes

Can't say I'm surprised. Ballack isn't getting any younger and Joe wasn't getting the game time he wanted because he wasn't the right type of player. Sad to see him leave but Carlo couldn't promise him more games so he'll go somewhere where he will.

I think he should have stayed at Chelsea, fair play to them for not giving in to his demands.

Come home joe!!

this has been common knowledge about cole for a few weeks , he's already agreed to go somewhere else but refuses to say where, id say it's arsenal or united

Arsenal would be the best fit - no expectation to win, slow play with no cutting edge, nice flicks and they already have Nasri and Arshavin who are exactly the same type of player (except Arshavin is better).

I would laugh if it was Arsenal.:-D

Cole is leaving cos he wanted more money and Chelsea refused. But you make up some twaddle if it makes that fact more paletable.

Why? He's a great striker who should be playing CHampions League football and Liverpool are managerless and have a £5 million budget so aren't realistically looking at Champions League football for a couple of seasons.

And by the way, the rest of the league are praying that you make Kenny your manager.

Never in a million years will both be there next season. Holly100 is spot on.

As for King Kenny, what's the attraction in him, he's just another Shearer, a fan's favourite, is that what is really needed to turn Liverpool around? I think they need a bit more than that.

As for Joe Cole he will be one of the best signings of the summer IMO whoever gets him, one of the most underated and underused English midfielders for both club and country in the last 5-7 years

Which bit is twaddle? He wasn't first choice and whilst Carlo is there he probably won't be.

He wanted more money than we were prepared to pay for someone to sit on the bench.

Top strikers dont have to be playing the champs league every season, look at Villa who has been at Valencia for years without it (and then when they do qualify he leaves!), plus players like Ribery who was at Bayern the season before last when they were not in it and the rest of Europe was sniffing around him.

I bet you support a team like man city and think that just because you've got a bit of cash your a big club that everyone wants to play for

And by the way King Kenny won the double the last time he was in charge at Liverpool and only left because his wife was ill. He later won the league with Blackburn. So why are the rest of the league hoping that we appoint a manager who has won the top flight with two different teams and who carries a legendary status at Anfield which will instantly command the respect of players like Gerrard and Torres and who hopefully will reinstate the boot room environment at the club?

I support Chelsea and if we weren't playing Champions League then I'd expect players to look elsewhere - we're losing a pretty decent player because he isn't playing as much as he'd like to.

As for cash, I don't think it's everything - we haven't spent big recently, but we've spent in positions we've HAD to and that's the problem at Liverpool. You need to spend money to remain competitive and you can't do that so maintaining your position in the league will be tough, let alone getting back to the top 4.

And Kenny's last success was 15 years ago, with a team who were the Man City of their day. The last few clubs he was linked with were Sheffield United and Preston:w00t::w00t:

Legend in his day, but that time has past - but feel free to insist that next year is your year as is every Liverpool fan's prerogative.

Yep, Gold was no problem, he was like a real supporter with a bit of passion about him for the club.

The problem is, he is always having to do the donkey work with the fans after sullivan has spouted off and slated the fans or something similar.

But yes, gold is the good guy.

Cole will goto Tottenham. Lets be honest, if Chelsea dont want him then Man U wont want him either. Harry will sort him out.
#22
I think he would be a great deputy / replacement for Giggs and fit in very well with Rooney too!

You see the common misconception is that Liverpool need to spend big. Granted we need a couple of signings but its not as bad as people like to think. It is more or less the same squad that came second in the league last year and destroyed teams like Real and Utd. The problem this season was Rafa's tactics. He was setting us up to draw games and players were hampered by the defensive tactics - for example playing two defensive midfielders when one of them isnt a natural defensive midfielder! Or playing Ngog, a player with promise, up front on his own with a defensive set up behind him which is not providing for him. Expect any new manager to come in and be able get better results out of the same group of players by setting the team up with a more attacking mentality.

Just because the papers linked Kenny with those clubs doesnt mean he was interested, it is widely known that the only club he would come out of retirement for is Liverpool. You point to the fact that his last major success was 15 years ago but he was out of the game for the vast majority of that time and this is still the man to have won the top flight with two different clubs. It took Fergie seven years in charge at Utd before he got any success of note!

And every year being our year as a Liverpool supporter is built upon the tradition and expectation of success.

It is for your club, before abramovich bought it, chelsea were a joke of a team with no chance of winning anything except sympathy votes,

Money IS everything in football, especially as far as chelsea are concerned, they bought their recent success, try and tell me otherwise and you are sadly deluded

Cole will end up at Arsenal or Spurs - I can't see him moving up north tbh. If he does go to the Gunners though, it'll be a hell of a shock...... he's English, and over the age of 21 :w00t:

yeah i think cole would be a great signing for utd
#28
cole is also going to be in demand because he is english and there is now a quota requirement on each club to have players that are home grown. The price tag on english players most of the time is inflated and as such a half decent player like Cole is going to be in demand
[mod]#29
I would quite happily like a player of Joe Coles quality at Manchester United.

For most of the big clubs I don't think this new quota rule will have that much of an impact. If young players from abroad have been here over three years by the time they reach 21 they're classed as home grown

I can see City being hit hardest by this, especially if they keep going for big-name players from Europe. They've got some decent young British players but are being pushed out of the club. We (Liverpool) might struggle too unless we bring in a manager like Van Gaal who is willing to take a chance on the youngsters and make them play to their full potential - you only need to look at players like Muller and Badstuber who would probably be nowhere if Bayern had a different manager.

Actually, we had won a couple of cups and were a Champions League team, but money was hugely important in our level of success.

Nice editing though, trying to remove the context from which I said something.

Also, terms like 'buying success' are absolutely meaningless - all teams spend money to win trophies.

Used to be what the club had earned from sponsors, selling shirts and actually winning things, not from cash injections from billionaires ;-)

So how do teams compete if they can't attract sponsors because they're relatively small and they can't have cash injections from private investors?

Actually, Chelsea haven't spent too much over the last couple of seasons on players. We spend big at the start of Roman's reign because we had to to compete with the very best - what was the alternative exactly?

Ballack back to Germany

Joe Cole - Arsenal or Spurs I think
#37
I'd love for Joe Cole to sign for United, he's a United style player who could play as a supporting striker advanced midfield or on the wing, He could fill a few voids left by the ageing Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs. However I fear he may sign for a southern team as he probably wouldn't have to move etc...

If he wants to win trophies he'll come to United, Plus Arsenal are unlikely to meet his wage demands as they supposedly have a salary cap.

As for Ballack hope he never plays again, Can't stand him.
#38
Ballack - to AC Milan - they are looking to rebuild their squad. But again maybe not - Bayern may fancy taking their old captain back to present a new looking Bayern with a force to be back in the Europe's elite with a old key figure. He is like Rooney in Germany, so he sells alot of shirts etc.

Joe Cole - Manchester United - May just fancy it (lot of England player there aswell, they may just persuade him) and off course he wants to be a winner. But could not be because it is looking Nani might just be the man next season, built himself up in the second half of the season and he could finally prove himself. But again it is Nani so.....never too sure. I dont see him joining Arsenal because they have a wage cap plus they are most likely to never win a trophy again lol.

There is possibility he may go Liverpool - if Liverpool get Roy from Fulham to come in and get the likes of Gerrard to settle and Model Torres to stay, it may appeal to him and Roy is a top manager.

Also I hate Ballack - he talks to much.

to West Brom. 99% ITK... :whistling:

I like Ballack. Probably didn't show his best in the EPL, but I've never seen a guy play so imperiously. Great with both feet, strong, good in the air, always has time, shot like a rocket.

I just think he's a great player to build a team around, but with Lampard in the midfield he was never going to get that.

Joe didn't play much because he slowed down our play a lot. That's okay if it's a tight match away at Old Trafford and you can do that, but our normal game was fast-paced breaks and Joe was frustrating in that type of team.

He'll fit in perfectly at Arsenal where they are a bit ponderous and play the ball around the box and look very pretty doing it. The word is we'll bring in Yossi Benayoun to fill his space.
