John Lewis laptop & office 365 bundle misprice

£0.00 @ John Lewis
Seeing as someone marked the deal as spam when it's not, can people post with updates when they collect their orders today or whenever a delivery arrives. I think we might all be just be getting a cop…

People who want to take legal action or complain to Watchdog are the exact reason this country is going to ****. Everyone expects something for nothing (or in this case, very little) and this whole American mentality of racketeering until a company who made a minor error gives in is ridiculous and goes to show how overly entitled some people believe themselves to be.

A company that originated on the high street and is one of the few successful ones left doesn't deserve to be hounded by idiots who feel they've been hard done by for not getting an unbelievable deal. Sure, mispricing happens and you should feel lucky that they are even honoured sometimes, but that doesn't mean they should be honoured all the time. If they had 500 of those laptops on stock and everyone got one for £40, that's a big loss. There's no way they got that stock for £20,000. In this country, the word no seems to be lost and the government and companies are too quick to fold on issues that shouldn't even be issues. I don't claim to be a genius but I feel as if some people are so stupid that they genuinely have no idea that they come across as a petty child. I'd rather not see a company go under because of some idiots without ethics. I hate people.

Edit: After seeing people are STILL complaining and now being offered £25 gift card, I would like to add that if you turn that down, you are a bigger moron than I ever could have anticipated. The fact that this good will gesture was even offered to you shows that John Lewis wants you to go away and leave their Customer Service team alone. They probably have better things to do than answer calls from arrogant folks who feel hard done by. You didn't pay for a laptop. You are not owed a laptop. I still hate people.

Hopefully the customer relations manager gets back to me tomorrow.
I used to work in CS, trust me when I say this, the manager will think your are nothing but a money grabbing scab and while he may be very polite and seeming helpful, the reality is he will be shaking his head as he speaks to you wondering how someone can be so audacious and above all lacking in mental prowess.
'He' is in fact a 'she' so HA miss clever clogs

Ah that's a different post I think the one I read and commented on. I think there must have been a duplicate hence being marked as spam, thanks

Any news? I can't pick mine up untill later, but fearing the same, that I'm just collecting the software! Also, if anyone has, did they argue that order states laptop is on order?
Thanks in advance

I've emailed them but waiting response! Money has been taken however! Anyone with any updates??

I have received tracking number for my order.I suspect will receive just software, and no laptop...Their terms and conditions clearly state that: "Please note that acceptance of your order takes place when it leaves our warehouse" so when my online order is still stating 2 items laptop and software they are obliged to honour the deal.
#7
Well as they have removed the "glitch" I thought why not! That's clear evidence that they messed up so I guess we wait and see what turns up!!
#8
Still no tracking number for me but like you said website is clear that once despatched from warehouse you enter a legal contract! They therefore should honour! My guess is that it's possible both would be sent from different areas hence some people who collect will only get the 365?
#9
If you look on the email it states the order is for laptop and software, then further down the page it only states the software will be delivered and no mention of laptop
#10
we need to do the same as people did with M&S tv deal, £1099 tv sold for £199 and M&S had to honour all orders
#11
That's what I queried in the email....it also states that some of the delivery may arrive separate but unsure if this is a generic response?
#12
I'm in on that! Didn't they petition?
#14
exactelly but we need all people with despatched parcels to join and send petition to JL Head Office
#15
Mhardy I have queried the email confirmation specifically as it also states that you may recieve deliveries separately but that maybe a generic response?
#16
Did you all use standard delivery? Still waiting for dispatched email

I have chosen next day,£6.95
#18
Let's do it but we need all who ordered to ideally comment on this thread. Law states that once despatched you are in a legal contract! That what the m and s petitioners pushed! If it was an error they should have notified is and not taken payment
#19
I chose standard delivery! Ajek let us know tomorrow what you recieve

No problem will update straight away

This is what the law states specifically for online purchases -

The legally binding contract is complete when a retailer accepts an order. However, acceptance does not necessarily happen at the point of order. Even the confirmation email may not be an acceptance. Some retailers reserve the right to cancel an order up to the point of delivery. It is therefore important to carefully check the retailer’s terms and conditions (which must be available on their website) and emails – if a retailer simply acknowledges an order, there may be no contract at that point.
#22
John Lewis terms and condition for online purchase and order acceptance - "Please note that acceptance of your order takes place when it leaves our warehouse, at which time we'll debit your nominated account with the total amount of £46.90 (including charges for your selected delivery service and UK VAT where applicable). If you've paid via PayPal, your account is automatically debited as you place your order. For Click & collect, your order will usually leave our warehouse the evening before it's available at your chosen shop for collection. For Collect+, your order will usually leave our warehouse within a day of it being placed. If the order is being delivered direct to you from a supplier, for instance in the case of larger products such as electrical appliances and furniture, you may be charged at any point between confirmation of your order and despatch.
#23
To me that'd and unless we are notified of an issue we should recieve both laptop and 365 if they have despatched! Petition it is if not!
#24
The fact I have had money taken yesterday indicates parcels are coming from separate suppliers....will be interesting!

that is mean you have two separate tracking numbers?
#26
I purchased to with standard delivery, I saw before that people called up and JL said the laptop would be delivered, but I haven't called or emailed yet to see. But I haven't received a dispatch email, has anyone else?
#27
Still awaiting tracking number at present but confirmation stated deliveries could be delivered seperatley?? Just reading up on other glitches and JL should at least be contacting us if they are not honouring! Poor CS if they don't! Is it worth ringing them I wonder?

I've also seen others have been told laptop will be delivered and that was confirmed so must be on their systems or else it's lies and they record telephone calls! That would not look to good for them if true!

I wasn't signed in when I ordered so its not coming up :( was trying to be as quick as possible so didn't want to faff with a password I couldn't remember. Once I completed the order I typed it in at the bottom of the page, but it hasn't added it to my account.
