John Lewis Warranty question (Panasonic 50" HD TV)

Picked up the recent £699 Panasonic 50" HD TV from John Lewis with 5 year warranty.
TV has been with me and installed for the past two weeks (incredibly happy with the quality, picture, sound and overall package)
I was just wondering about the warranty,,, Aside from the option of printing off my own sales receipt from my online account, i have received no printed material through the post that resembles a sales receipt or a 5 year warranty, I was of the opinion from previous warrantys (comet, currys etc) that a warranty is normally a printed document.
Is this normal for JL? Anyone else pick up the TV and did they receive some printed documents through the mail?

Your receipt generally will act as your warranty with Jlp,if you do lose in the 5 year period you can be found from your details taken at point of sale, hope this helps m8.

If you have purchased a television, your service guarantee is automatically 5 years in total, or 3 years for a John Lewis large electrical domestic appliance. These are also subject to the following.

jl have had the 5 year warranty on TVs since at least 1995 so don't worry.

Ok so basically if i print out my online receipt, this will suffice should i have any issues with the tv that i feel may be covered under warranty

yes- im pretty sure of it.

i bought the 669 deal 42panny from M&S and didnt even get a delivery note(!) called them and they confirmed that my online order 'confirmation' email was my receipt and warranty thingie..

pretty sure it's the same for JL

Your receipt acts as your warranty although your details will be on their systems so technically you just need to call them if you need to make a warranty claim. I've had to call them before and the service has been very good, much better than what I'm currently experiencing from Richer Sounds unfortunately...

i had this with another retailer a few years ago. it was actually a Panasonic direct warranty that was offered. eventually after much pestering I recieved an insurance doc through the post from Domestic & General. aparently Panasonic processed them in bulk..... unsure if this is the same thing through JL
