i was talking to one of my customers today as he is in the police, he said that it was a lot easier than people think the test arent that bad.. and the fitness test is that you have to run 1 1/2 miles in approx 14 mins, but it takes ages to get through all the interviews and assessments

Yeah I have the time, I have just graduated form uni and we have been told to expect to wait a year for a half decent job on average anyways.
Hmmm that seems pretty easy though, although I think I would rather get fitter anyways so I can do it easy, would be a good excuse regardless:)

heres a breakdown of my OH's shifts over the past
6 - 4 days
6 - 4 days
7-4 days

his shifts are all over the place and can also depend which area you are working and which department, Overtime is dropped on him at no notice.

Just wondering...is overtime optional or compulsary?

thanks andy,

louise I am referring to MoD police btw, not sure if shifts vary among differing forces. Would like to know the rosta for Thames Valley Police as I have put an application in for them about a month ago now. I thought all Police did 12hrs (unless they were desk jockeys) my Dad works for them so suppose I should ask him
