1) Be nicer to one another. Make an effort to smile at total strangers.
2) No return of fox hunting. It's simply wrong. No place in a modern society for such a barbaric act.
3) No raise in national insurance contributions. We pay enough tax in terms of NI (for what we get in return). I do not agree with taxing the rich individual as I feel this stalls entrepreneurialism, however I do agree that we should increase corporation tax on companies earning disproportionate amounts.
4) Pull our troops out of a unwinnable war (Afghanistan). Make other politicians understand that behind every photo of every soldier killed, there is a human being, a family and a life that has been ended.
5) Overhaul of current judicial system. Include longer and tougher penalties for drunk drivers, gang crime, young offenders and hate crime. Introduce a system that forces the perpetrator to pay back society for the crime they have committed.
6) Role Model Ambassadors. No more looking up to the plastic population! Good, hard working, respectable people will be encouraged to partake in activities involving education within schools. The end of our 'wannabe' generation is nigh!
7) More direct involvement from the electorate! No more will we have to wait four years to get a say. I will put into action a scheme that allows the electorate to decide points of interest that effect them on a regular basis. Through internet, face to face and postal voting, YOU get to decide what, how and when you want things DIRECTLY! (no more hoping your local councilor raises them at PMQ). This will be a TRUE democracy! Following this idea, you would have had a say in what your tax money went to in terms of the Olympics and that 'lovely' roller coaster building they are building at YOUR expense! More involvement equals more pride in what may one day be a world leading country again!
8) Wage cap for ALL MP's (including me!) No longer will people move into politics to make a quick buck! Educated people such as scientists, engineers, business leaders will all be offered rolls to accommodate their skills. We will learn from the best of the best without a hint of corruption! The true wage of any MP will be to see this country standing tall with new generations paying an active part in society!
9) No external jobs for MP's. You're an MP so spend all your hours working as one! No time for extra jobs, sitting on boards for 3 hours a month to earn £50k a year. It's deplorable! You are an MP because you want to make a difference to this country of ours, so spend your time doing so!
9) A reduction in benefits. A total overhaul to make living off benefits less of an easy option. That said, those who genuinely need benefits (older people, disabled people) will see an increase in their benefits.
10) Conscription (national service).ALL people who chose to live/be born in this country will have one year of a modern day conscription at the age of 18 (or for immigrants who between the ages over the age of 18-45 when entering the country) . To learn the history of our country, to learn the belonging of it's inhabitants that our country so needs and to be proud of this country in a combined effort to move it forward and support it in being a true global leader in ethics, morals and general good honest decency!
11) Increased wages for essential workers. We need to make Nurses, FireFighters, Doctors, the jobs of choice for young people. This means increasing wages for those on the front line AND only offering managerial jobs within these sectors to those who have worked through the chain of command! No more ridiculous wages for 'managers/admin staff' who have never given an injection, put our a fire or taken someones pulse! The managers within these sectors will be people who have worked there way through the ranks and therefore have earned the respect from the front line staff.

whats your policy on immigration

A very broad and detailed topic.

My policy is on people working to make this country great, having a common goal and working as a team.
To have people come to this country and live on benefits will not happen under my rule. And the same goes for those who already live in this country.

Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country! :-D

not the best tag line for people who weren't born here :w00t:

You chose to live in this country, then THIS country becomes YOUR country. No ifs or buts about it!
Which leads me onto point 10!

10) Cap Footballer wages to about £12,000 a year.
11) Cap Footballer sponsorship money.
12 ) Increase wages of emergency service staff such as paramedics, firefighters etc, therefore giving the money to people who actually do a good thing for their jobs.
#16
In the real world people only go into politics to make money.

Just appeal to as many people as you can and you're giving it your very best shot. Good luck.

10 and 11 (I have no problem with skilled people earning skilled wages HOWEVER they will be 'encouraged' to put the effort back into our society to make it a better and greater place for new generations to have the same opportunities).

12 Agreed! (added in as point 11)

It's not Father Christmas that should be banned, it's the growing up and not believing in him that's the problem.
None of us should ever be forced to grow up from magical state of mind.

bring back the cane for kids

Seriously? Why would you want to beat up kids?
banned#24
whatsThePoint
i disagree with 11 having spent 3 weeks in hospital most of the time nurses don't do much, unless chatting is a skilled job
And firefighters rarely spend time fighting fires

Did you get better in hospital? And if you did, was it down to divine intervention?
banned#25
whatsThePoint
now that you mention it No
Plus the nurse tried ripping a scab off my leg that was there because i'd just had an angioplasty
If she had succeeded there would of been a fountain of blood across the ward
And i didn;t say they didn't work i just said they have a easy life most of the time

I think you will find most hard working nurses will disagree strongly, however point taken and I feel that a work shy attitude across the board of ALL employment could be solved with a more educated management.

whatsThePoint
Didn't kids stop having respect for others around the time the cane was stopped?

So you are suggesting beating kids would earn respect?
I don't think beating kids into submission will solve the problems we have now.

Have a read of the conscription point (original post).
I feel this would be more constructive.

Ok then, we'll add starting more fires and causing more serious car accidents to be made compulsory to ensure you get your moneys worth out of them. :?
#28
whatsThePoint
So you think dealing with a serious accident means someone should be paid an inflated wage, i'm sure people who work for car recovery companies will be happy to hear that

And their roles at a serious car accident are comparable?

If you think a firemans wage is inflated I just hope you never find out my salary :whistling:

I can't imagine there are many people who agree with you that firemen are overpaid.
