why would you even wanna steer lol

once started, then brake sharply. brakes will work but just need more pressure

Why on earth would you want to "Jump start a car in reverse?"

I would JUMP start the car in neutral. -- and then just drive it off once started..

Or do you mean BUMP starting -- If BUMP starting, you can bump start within 10 meters or so, but will need a bit of pace. -- But I would JUMP start rather than Bump to protect the CAT.

And.. one last thing...... its Petrol yeah ?

They will work, but you will have no sevro power until the engine is started, therefore the braking performance will not be as good as normal and you need to be strong ish...

Plus.. you will have no power steering until started.

Never heard of that one, in my first car a Mk1 golf, I was always told to bump it in second, thankfully it didnt weigh much so was easy to shove, and I lived in yorkshire so no shortage of hills.

You would usually if you could, but if you are parked up a hill say facing your garage, then sometimes reverse is the only option.
Shouldn't make much difference if any though.

You can bump start diesel cars too.

lol no need for youtube, it worked alright - i would liken it to taking off on a short runway backwards

i took it out the driveway and reversed it back in so i could bump start it forwards next time if i had to....

which was 30 seconds later because being a complete retard i turned the ignition off when i got out instead of letting it run for a while (_;) so after bump start no.2 its running in the driveway right now.

thanks for the advice people :{
