Its been rough in junior league for a long time, My son had his bottom row of teeth kicked in and his jaw broken playing junior league football. He was the tallest kid there so no way was it an accident!

thats terrible, my son is also tall and when he played in the school team the opposite team player kicked his boots right up to my sons eye and split it wide open ended up in casualty with stitches and a permanent scar but it was an accident! yeah right!

our kids are looked after also its just some of the teams they played against thats the worry! because my son is tall they like to play him in defence and he hates it as he is a midfielder but he will cover defence if needed and this is where he was today!

I dont think it makes too much difference where you live. I live in Manchester.
I do think a lot of the parents can get too competitive and push the kids . I also think that some players are targeted for rough tackling just as in the adult game,

I hugely agree about players being targeted. I manage my younger brothers under 16s team and it gets difficult at times. I remember watching my brother getting kicked in the face last season only to have the rest of the opposing team laughing as he lay there injured, I was very angered at the laughing but managed to hold my nerve thankfully.

The number of times I see opposing players attempting to injure our best players is out of order, its very rough but the referees are reluctant to show cards as this means a fine for the player.

Got a game tomorrow an I expect some of the same, playing against team who managed to have 2 players red carded in their last game.
