To calm my fury and to get my own back, those that supply a prepaid envelope I deface the leaflet (that way it cannot be used again) and return it in the prepaid envelope so at least I am getting some satisfaction out of knowing they have had to pay for annoying me. Perhaps if more did the same the junk mailers may stop sending out so much junk mail.

You do know that it does not cost them anything extra when you send these back ?

how does that work then.

If there are contact numbers on the form I usually put one of those in the detail and just hope they try and ring themselves, making a name up to fill in is fun as well, usual simpsonesque stuff like IP Freely or Amanda Hugankiss - childish but huuuuuge fun lmao

exactly. IF we relied on mail that you actually wanted delivered i wouldnt get paid and you would get one delivery a week and be complaining that you dont get any mail anymore :w00t:

I would be quite happy with that lol.....i work on reception and sort the post out for all the companies and the amount that goes into the paper recycle bin is unbelievable. At home the most annoying thing is we get a free paper that is stuffed with absolute carp...leaflets for clothing collections, double glazing, debt solutions and those shops that charge a fortune to buy something on credit. Companies must spend a bomb on advertising that never gets read.

yeh i get the local newspaper every thursday and as soon as it comes throught letterbox its straight in the recycling bin. ITs a huge amount of wasted paper but someone must be using the junk mail otherwise companies wouldnt keep sending the junk mail out!

I used to get junk mail from the same company every week and they wouldnt stop even after I asked them to stop.

Eventually I sent them a big box with a brick in it and their mailings to their freepost address.

never got any more junk mail after that :)

Put a sticker on the letterbox saying "No Junk mail or free newspapers please"

works for me

yeh thats fine for the leaflets, but actual addressed mail has to be delivered!

i don't think we rely on leaflet advertising as much we did years ago, there are so many other ways to find out about products. People aren't as gullible either, i despise cold calling sales people with a vengance , if i want to buy something i will research it myself, i don't want some smarmy dude on the phone talking to me like i'm their best friend in the hope it will make me buy the product.
