Just been sent an e-mail from a gambling site containing someone's personal documents

I registered myself at Globet, an online gambling site to get some cashback a few days ago and have just received an e-mail which obviously wasn't intended for me. It contained 4 PDF attachments with someone else's passport and various other personal documents. What's the best course of action to take against the gambling site?

I am guessing log on and gamble away for free isn't going to be the answer you were looking for is it?

Don't delete them (or use them) so you can forward them on to the relevent people (not sure who though)

Which website? They may be my details...

Why don't you contact them and tell them instead of us before they send more out?

Didn't someone on here get a big apology payout for being sent someone elses personal details in an email.

Erm...tell them.

Either:

A) Tell them (gambling site)
B) Sell the story to the papers as they love personal privacy on the web stuff like that.
C) Sell info to Russians or Nigerians.
D) Assume their identities yourself.

Just received this e-mail:

Dear xxxxxx

We would like to inform you that if you have received by mistake any Globet documents, we would like to apologize and we would like to ask you to cancel immediately this documentations.

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards

Thing is theyv'e probably sent your details out to all the others too, wouldn't fancy your chances of getting credit again or getting through passport control again.

On a serious note I'd be chaging cards and passwords if I were you.

"cancel immediately this documentations"??

like greg says-if you have registered a credit card on that site-you better call your bank IMMEDIATELY!

I'm a member of a few & sites so would look at changing my details.

If that's a cut and paste job then you really have to trust a website with your personal information that sends an email that sounds like it's been through Google translate.

I sent them my student ID as I've managed to make some casinos accept it lol. I didn't send them any further documents as I didn't trust them after a few inconsistencies in their e-mails.

As for credit, I am instantly notified when there are any changes on my credit report.

They don't have my card details and my e-mail and password is unique to them.

that would be too obvious. OP really does have things going wrong for them judging by all their threads on here with problems.

mumbojumbo
Globet are D-rated by Sportsbook Review (A is the best, F is a scam site).
They are regulated in Gibraltar (better than Malta!).
Report them to the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority, the Gambling Commission (UK) and the ICO for breach of data protection procedures.

Just what I was after, thanks!
