i was there last year and it was fantastic!!! i done alot of diving and the waters are brilliant, seen turtles and the sorts.

I would recommend the luxor and cairo tours, we were in the iberotel lido in namma bay and we opted for the flights opposed to the bus, was about £105 but that was picked up from the hotel, taken to the airport, flights there, then a bus with a tour guide and lunch, and of course all the same on the return.

Are you all inclusive? If not there is a massive selection of restaurants in namma bay, we were b+b and was the best decision we made, everyone complained the food was very repetitive at the resorts. But it was so cheap and alot of nice restaurants on the beach, was about £10 for two meals, drinks and dessert

That all sounds great...thanks for the info. Yes we are all inclusive, but that doesn't mean we won't eat out as well. We booked the AI as I had heard drinks were very expensive....but thats ok as we will have a choice.

when we were there the beers/lagers were reasonable (30LE/£3 for a pint of sakkarra lager) but the spirits and cocktails were quite expensive. you will spend most of your time in the hotel as TBH naama bay itself is very small and not that many bars/restaurants. hard rock is great, as is the camel bar (make sure you go to the rooftop bar as the view is fantastic)
you will be offered 2 different types of cairo trips. by plane or by bus. the plane trip is slightly more expensive but much quicker obviously. we chose the 2 day by bus trip and it was fantastic. we were picked up at 1am and were in cairo before 8am. we did the usual perfume factory (excuse to make you buy perfumes lol) visit then it was off to the museum in cairo. that was awesome but if you are claustrophobic or don't like crowds it will freak you out, very little air in there (take a fan) and no AC except in tutankhamen's section. then we had lunch in the hard rock before doing the papyrus factory (more shopping) then we went to out 5 star hotel for the evening meal. then off to the giza plateau for the sound & light show. this has to be seen to be believed as they use lights & lasers to tell the story of the pyramids & sphinx by projecting onto the pyramids & sphinx themselves. back to the hotel for the night. next morning it was breakfast then off to the pyramids & sphinx complex themselves. unbelievable experience and not to be missed. then off for lunch by the nile in TGI's. then off to sakkarra to see the step pyramid before visiting the bazaar and then starting the return trip and getting back to the hotel at about 1am. awesome trip and the guide was brilliant.

Went about 5 years ago and it was fantastic. Very hot but we thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed B&B at the Kirosis (or something like that). We went on the Mount Sinai trip where you climb the mountain over night and watch the sun rise from the top. Don't worry, there are camels if you prefer or are not that fit. We were picked up from the hotel at night by coach and you get handed a torch so you can see your way up. It was hard work but watching the sunrise from the top made it totally worth it.
