Can you even run Vista on Macs?!

You need to use Bootcamp I believe:

if you dont want apple OS then why would you buy MacBook? theyre famous for their hardware-software stability

if you like light laptops, just buy Toshiba R500 (0.8 kg or 1.6 lbs only)

sorry if this is irrelevant :)

You have to buy the vista installation disks. Use them in the exact same way as far as im aware... Just put the install cd into a drive and your macbook should be able to connect to that drive wirelessly. Or u can use wires if you prefer

Yes, it does. If it's not installed by default it will be on the restore DVD somewhere. You'll possibly need to keep OS X installed ... I'm not quie sure how it works, I only have PPC Macs.

HOLD HOLD ON YOU WANT TO REPLACE APPLES OS WITH VISTA

Are you insane
#13
Bootcamp would allow you to install Vista (or any other operating system)

Also something like VMware Fusion or Parallels might be worth looking at, the only thing is you need to buy these so there's the extra cost involved, whereas Bootcamp is included.
#14
Just get a Vista disk and pop it in your -

Oh wait. Does an Air even have a CD drive?

:giggle: Toshiba is 19.5mm thick, Mac Book Air is 19.4mm, so not the biggest of wins there! And the Air isn't all that lightweight at all - its over 3 pounds!

yeah mate... if you wanted Vista, you shud have stuck to the tosh or the sony TZ series, which are less that 1.3kgs, and have an DVD drive in the laptop...

Honestly.. You want VISTA inplace of OSX!!! I think i'm gonna need therapy after this!!
#17
Why would you do that? I agree with others you are insane to do this, should of just stuck to a laptop not a Macbook Air!

lol i think this must be an elaborate troll

vista on a 1.6ghz device is asking for trouble... pretty poor specs to run vista
#19
why did you buy mac air if you gonna run vista and not mac os as well *doesnt make sense to me, just saying ... what's wrong with the logic there.

ps: i am a mac user!
#20
Must be a troll.

Otherwise I am just totally gob smacked.
#21
are you levi in disguise?
#22
lol yeah troll ... bill gates has left the building ...

I just bought the air a few weeks ago after using windows for years and love it, OSX is far better and easier than vista.
#25
Id love a mac but they are too expensive

I always thought i didnt want a mac because i couldnt run any games but i dont play pc game anyways and plus you can run some games

although id have to give the amc a test drive before buying just to make sure i like it as i used an old mac ones and it was rubbish but then it was like 1997
#26
why on earth buy a mac when you just want to put vista on it? that's really rather strange!
#27
That's like buying a Renault then ripping out the interior & replacing with stuff from a Ford 'cos you like Fords better than Renaults:giggle:

Correct me if I am wrong, but isnt the Macbook Air pretty expensive? If you can aford that low spec laptop you should be able to aford a bit of software.

BTW, bootcamp is included...:whistling:
