more than that..... A decent IT contract can get you £40+ per hour.

I'm getting offers for a 3D moddeler in nuclear industry (given the dip in water after amp4) £32 an hour :-D

I've been contracting now for just over 10 years, I use my own private limited company, works out slightly more beneficial than umbrella, but more admin.

The one piece of advice that I would put forward is to ensure you put enough away for the lean times, I did have some periods of time (9/11) when the market was very slow.

Good luck however, a breakdown of the rates for skills is :-

App support £200 - £250 ish / day
System Testers £200 - £ 275 / day
Business/Systems Analysts £ 300 - £450 / day
Project Managers £ 400 - £600 / day

Specialist consultants (SAP etc) - £ 600 - £1000 / day.

Hope this is of use

Or: is there a green light on?

Well done though. Can you also get me a job? I don't really have any knowledge or skills but...err...yeah.
