It means they want you to give them all your personal details.

Then they will "steal" your identity and get credit cards, loans and so on using your "details".

First you now about it is when the baliffs come knocking on the door.

I get them all the time, people offering jobs and so on., Bin it.

No, this is a scam mail. There's 2 different type of PA scam mails at the moment.

The first type of scam, if they will send you a $3000 check for you to cash and he will tell you to keep $300 of it (your wages) and send the rest on to a business associate $2700 while your cashing the check. It will turn out that the check was washed with the details changed (and takes the bank 7days to find out) and the money you sent on is now lost.. so you end up owing $2700.

The second type of scam, is making you the middle man in his operations. He will purchase goods with stolen cards and use your address as the delivery address.

To me, it sounds like the first scam.. He will send you a fake check and then ask you to purchase the goods for him while the check clears (it wont clear).

This type of scam tricks alot of people,as it seems like he is sending the money up front when he isnt. When you go to put the check in the bank, the money will appear in your account and you think its all legit, then 7days later you find out the check was fake and you owe all that money.

You're not in America (@ a guess), you didnt apply for this job, you will never see the person, why the hell would he be willing to send you money without knowing anything about you and without even knowing your from england. Its a scam and you will end up out of pocket.

Someone I know got a similar email, He was applying for jobs on a jobsite and received an email, They deposited £4000 into his bank account told him to keep £500 as his wages and withdraw the rest and take to a Weston union branch. He's got learning difficulties and didn't think anything of it, Clearly money laundering but he had know idea until I told him what it was.

He stopped straight away and hasn't done it since, Rather sinister as he was desperate for a job and they are the types in desperate need of money.

I wouldn't reply to the email, 100% scam.

Watch out, his Bank is highly likely to come back to him and say the money deposited into his account was fake and he's liable for all of it. Thats one of the most common scams now.

I know, Sadly it couldn't of happened to a nicer person, It was about a month a go and he only did it once and had no idea, I understand they can trace it but hopefully if they do they understand his learning difficulties. I know it's obvious to the normal person but he genuinely thought it was a genuine job.

If its been a month without them contacting him (make sure he hasnt just ignored it if they have tried to contact him), then he should be ok... hopefully it was just money laundering and not the scam where they deposit fake cheques. Usually it only takes them 7-14days till they realise.

I'd recommend going with him to a cash point and checking he's not in the negative for -3500, as if he ignores it which alot of people do.. It will get ALOT worse. £3500 debt can quickly turn into £10000+ if ignored.
