CUSTOMERS at the Cornerhouse complex in Nottingham city centre were today evacuated after a fire started in the ducting system, filling two areas with smoke.
The building will now remain closed for the rest of the evening.
Five fire crews were called to the blaze, which started at about 2.15pm, and is believed to have started in the ducting system of one of the restaurants in the Cornerhouse.
The fire was put out by 7.50pm. No-one was injured and there was no serious damage to the building. A crew from Central fire station was due return at 11pm to check that the building was safe.
