no, it will go up after you have bought some stuff and become an established customer

You can contact them and ask them to up your limit.

No dormant accounts do not get anything added you have to spend, but I think if you set up a direct debit for the minimum amount it helps.
Have you called them, sometimes you can negotiate?? I have the opposite problem and spend countless hours begging for my limit to be reduced, one is at 7k, how on earth can you justify spending that on a mail order catalogue??

I started with a limit of £300 with

Very now increased to £1700 made some biggish purchases and paid off
Littlewoods now increased to £1100 some smaller purchases paid off.
Additions now increased to £1700 a few large buys made and paid.

These have all took about 8/9 months to reach this level.

Great Universal now increased to £750 after 2 months (only one item ordered)

The more you spend the more they will want you to spend, they will increase the limit if you use it regularly

Shop Direct like to give credit and charge high fees if you are late paying or miss a payment.

No late payments, always take advantage of the take 3 free credit, or interest free for 12 months offers and only buy if its the cheapest place anyway.

No bought something from them in oct bumped my limit to £600 or 700 then just few weeks ago to £1000

it basically goes up if you are paying on time and clear what you bought,

( sorry neglected to add that in my original post  )

Playstation 3

Personally - no way would I get myself credit for something like that! If I was struggling and my washing machine broke down and I had no money - then yes thats the road I would go down - but not for a playstation!!!!

Never a lender nor a borrower be:)

When I opened a Littlewoods account a few years ago I think I got an initial credit limit of £300, I had a few small items & paid them off in full I now have a credit limit of over £7,000 but I wouldn't dream of using that! :)
