I only have a DVI input in the back of my TV, what do I need to buy or will it be supplied?

You will need an HDMI to DVI convertor. Also phone leads for sound. (DVI doesnt carry audio)

PhonO*

u can also connect your the sky hd box to your tv with a composite + phono cable.

the pic quality is nearly the same.

But surely if you are not using a HDMI cable you will not get HD.

And if so what is the point of paying an extra £10 a month for HD?

Will the HDMI to DVD convertor mentioned earlier give you HD?

No point whatsoever. I assume the poster meant component.

Yes. It carries the same digital signal minus audio.

it may no work through dvi mate
as i tried to connect a hddvd player to my plasma also a hdmi dvd player through it too and it didnt give a signal
something to do with hdcp, you need to make sure your tv is hdcp compliant
i take it your tv isnt hd ready as mine wasnt
you may be able to use component which is 3 phonos colour coded red/green/blue
but you would need to select component as the output on your sky hd box i would of thought
these carry the picture only you will need to use 2 more phonos for the sound i.e. red and white normally this is like the analogue version of hdmi
do not confuse these with composite which are red/white/ yellow
although if your tv has vga input (which it probally has)
you can get something called hd fury which cost about £50 off the net and even ebay which will bypass the hdcp protection and allow the pictre through
these even force a 1080p picture on a non 1080p tv, dont ask how it works as i have not got a clue
there may even be a dvi version out now
your best bet is to look for the main sellers selling them on ebay
and ask them all the relavent questions as they wil know what you need to know
hope this helps mate

I am sorry I did mean Component and as rightly mentioned it does carry HD signals. the only drwaback is that you can carry all signals both video and audio with one HDMI cable, where as you need 5 cables to carry hd signal (3 video component and 2 audio phono) with the other way!
