Taken from page-Nintendo is cutting the price of its popular Wii games console by 20% in the US and Japan. The company has also confirmed to BBC News that the trade price will drop in the UK and Republic of Ireland. However, the firm said the the ultimate cost for UK customers would be "determined by retailers themselves". Earlier this year, the Japanese firm raised the trade price of the games console in the UK by £20, citing depreciation of the pound. The current retail price is £199 in the UK, although many retailers still sell it for £179.

Not really a deal is it... :p *edit* oops it was shifted just after i posted that.

Think the UK isn't getting a price cut, I read that we're getting a bigger bundle instead including Wii Resort.

Makes the £120 Gamestation gave me for mine last week even better if the RRP gets reduced.

I don't think the UK will be following, Nintendo already hate the exchange rate.
They also put the rrp up this year.

i did ask for it to be moved if it was in the wrong place.

I know its only what the BBC say-but if you read the article it does say : (quote) 'The company has also confirmed to BBC News that the trade price will drop in the UK and Republic of Ireland. '

Just thought it might be interesting to people thinking of one for Christmas.

They put the rrp up to £199 this year but many were still being sold for £179. So %20 of £199 = (about) £159 rrp.
