Just sold a VCR / DVD / HDD Combi recorder on ebay for £86.95. I was sure that I had set only people with more than 5 or 10 feedback to be able to buy.

Anyways, what should I do now, as i'm kinda worried that something could turn out sour, like them saying it is faulty and sending back one of their own (we all know the scams).

Would taking a photo of the serial number be enough to prevent anything happening?

Thanks for your help guys

Everyone has to start somewhere.
Take the serial number and if collection, make sure it's cash on collection only.
Send it recorded/signed for delivery if you are posting it.
Good luck.

Or they could be reasonable people who don't use the site alot. If your scared don't use eBay.

Personally I would second chance offer it to the next highest bidder if they haven't already paid for it.

Or say it's sold as seen and you won't accept any refunds.

could you maybe mark it on the inside somewhere and take a pic so if they do try sending a broken one you will be able to tell.

I agree, good advice. But... I do understand that it is an item that people do like to scam on, and I would be wary of someone with a feedback of 2.

If someone really wanted to scam you they would just buy a load of 1p items and get the feedback from them. Then scam you.
Well thats what id do...

Thanks for the quick reply guys!

I had the item as buy it now, so no chance for a second offer and will be sending the item by DHL. I know I might be being a bit too weary, but I always see threads on here pop up saying they have been scammed etc.

When would paypal side with the buyer?

And this is why ebay is terrible now, nobody is honest, if you sell it to someone follow it through, don't lie to them and offer it to someone else, as they won it fair and square and should have it sold to them.

probably with whatever rubbish the buyer tells them knowing paypal, could you not ask them to do a bank transer.

dont forget you can phone ebay if worried

You've made a contract and they've paid up promptly - stick to it. How would you feel if you were a noob and paid for something you really wanted only to be knocked back by the seller with a rubbish excuse ? I doubt if the buyer is out to scam you for such an item as it wouldn't be so easy to sell on for much of a profit. If it was a moby then I'd be more wary as ebay is rife with phone scammers.

If they scammed, surely it's all profit?

I've only got 5... and only 2 with detailed info because 3 are over 90 days old.. hardly use the thing, doesn't make me a scammer.
