Just treated myself to a nice haircut and dye at Toni and Guy

Was a nice experience if a bit strange lol, only booked there as the guy said at first it should cost only £27 for the cut and dye and only costs more if things like foil is needed for hair and extras.

Ended up being £60! but I got 25% student discount off still £45 lol.

Was nice though, first was talked through what they thought was the best style for my hair, then was taken to get my hair shampoo'd and conditioner put on, then had the hair cut, then taken and shown hair samples for colour then dye put on, then put in front of those massive hair dryers(which are like 5 parts) then hair shampoo'd and treated then "product" put on.

Nice in all just wish they told me it wasnt the basic package lol.

Still it works out just £20 more lol.

Thats naughty mis-leading you like that :x

Still, in the end wasn't a bad price for what you had done considering where you had it done!

It is but I thought it would be around £20(with my discount) and never treated myself to one before and I always look scruffy and have messy hair so needed a new haircut and style

Absolutely hate hairdressers with a passion, whilst they're in work at least, lol.

Why oh why do they insist on talking to you about the weather and where are you going on holiday and who's bedding who in some stupid soap opera. Do they get specially trained for this part of their job ?

All beyond me which is why the O/H cuts mine using one of those hair trimmer thingies.
I will never pay to go to a hairdresser again, thankfully.

Humbug ! (Grumpy old men rule !)

Yup agree hottoshop. When I get the chance to go - I like to sit, chill and have some peace. Not have banal conversation inflicted upon me and then be made to feel I have to make an effort to reply ;-).

I'm not really into hairdressers,I don't b uy hair styling products, one time I didn't go to the hairdressers for about 8yrs,cos my partner would give it a trim every now and then.I did it to save money and plus I don't like going and as hottoshop says they try make conversation but don't sound realistic about it most time when speaking to you.
I went to hairdressers last Summer and it was £16! I only had a few inches trimmed off,dry cut,no styling nothing,I was sat there less than 10mins,not going again for long time.

I've been using the same haidresser for 20 years!

We talk politics, current events, football etc....we have some great indepth discussions sometimes.
Mind you, that's only for afternoon appointments. If I have an early morning one he doesn't talk much....he knows I'm not my best in the morning!

Yeh thats what you want.

My partner does his own hair with clipper shaver and he does our boy.Daughter goes to the hairdressers regularly, but they only charge £4 so we usually tip £1 too.

I do this with a "trimmer thingie" (as you call it) for my hubby - was about £20 from Argos well spent 7 years ago!!

Although once I did forget to put the guard thing on and he had a totally bald stripe from his ear, but to be fair a hat did cover it!!!! :whistling:

I stick with a bic in the summer and hair trimmers with no guard in winter, a smooth shaved head looks ok with a tan but pale and smooth bald heads look like cue balls! LOL
