Well with your Scottish Sun and Scot Mid instead of Co-Op I thought you were trying your best to not be associated with us.

Dont you mean the ENGLISH and the scots???

The only thing that could cheer me up after England losing is scotland f***ing it up aswell!!

still :x
#5
Nah i mean Brits innit ;-)
#6
still in our own hands all we have to do is beat italy

no probs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#7
the.tourist you do me England and The Scots.... seeing as Scotland is in Britain.

You should have said either english and Scottish or Britain.

Ach all we have to do is beat Italy....at Hampden...with our full side :-D
Eeeeeaaaaaaaaaasy

Seriously, we play far better at home, and the same when we are underdogs.
If we are predicted a win, its always a hairy one and we end up knackering it up.
We will have our full squad back, as the changes tonight showed us up for our limited amount of top players.
We beat France, we gubbed the Ukraine, Italy will round it all up quite nicely.

And come on, its the only hope of either team making it since England have near to no chance.

Italy. As in Italy - World Champions??? THAT Italy??? Must be b***dy joking.

Scotland will play better at Hamden than they did last night, with the full squad back as well.
But it is a HUGE task for them to win that game - especially as Italy need a win as well.

If we do win it will be our greatest win EVER. Better than...
England 2 Scotland 3 1967
Scotland 3 Holland 2 1978
Scotland 1 France 0 2006
Scotland 1 France 0 2007

Italy World Champions, they'v lost a few players, and don't forget we beat France twice and it wasn't much difference in the Final between the two of them. Oh and France have beaten Italy and got a draw in this campaign so France have a better record, and we beat them.
The way we can play, especially with a full team available i really think its a possibility and most of Scotland does as well.
Scotlands on a high, and whatever happens we have done damn good.

And besides, we cant stay at home with England.
All the matches on the TV will be full of English commentators, droning on about how good England would be in the competition and how they could have won it and blah de blah.
My god we have to get through to save ourselves from that :p

Don't think it will stop them talking about England anyway whether we get through or not.
They bring up that jammy win in '66 every chance they get as it is.
England - the only team to ever win a World Cup 2:2 :-D

I'm wondering if we should start a petition to permenantly bannish 'that' maroon strip to a world where the other unspeakables are. I can't tell you what the unspeakables are exactly, but let's just say there might be some reference to a country that begins with I and ends in ran and another country that begins with C and ends in osta Rica.

In '78 it was P (eru) that stuffed us, while we drew with I (ran). And the less said about W (illie) J (ohnston) the better :)

And don't forget about M (orocco) in '98 either
[helper]#18
...despite '78 being a bit of a fiasco it did produce "that" goal by Archie Gemmell.

I vaguely remember a game and it was Scotland vs a south American team (Paraguay or Uruguay) - they had a player sent off in the first 10 mins but for the rest of the game the ref let the opposing team kick the living daylights out of the Scottish players without any punishment. I'm sure Scotland lost or drew but I do remember it being one of the most frustrating games I've ever watched.

Scotland v Uraguay at Mexico '86. Sent off Jose Alberto Batista in the 1st minute.
Scotland needed to win 2-0 to get to the next round above West Germany.
Needed to win to have a chance at a spot in the next round for teams finishing 3rd.
Ended 0-0.

You're right - maybe the worst game of football I have ever watched.
Well, at a national level anyway - I do watch Norwich City sometimes :-D

yeah - I well remember the Uruguay game. Not only was it an incredibly frustrating match (and violent too), I remember it so well because I went out at half time to go to the ice-cream van, got bit by a dog and then had to go to hospital!

If I remember correctly, the game was played on Friday 13th and I was 13 year old boy at the time. What a sh**y day that was:-(

At least you didn't have to watch the second half.....or did your dad make you wait until the game had finished.

I think I had to watch all the rest of the game first. Then we went to the Royal on the bus and I got a tetanus jag on my bum - I've still got the scar to prove it! A really sh**y day indeed :-(
