Just wondering............

If you see a man getting a good beating from a gang of youths-what would you do?
Would you; help him, phone police, ignore it?
I have been thinking about it as it is happening a lot recently, I feel that I would try to help him but the consequencies could be fatal

cos I thought it could be a sensible discussion, dont think 'joining in' was a choice in my eyes:oops:
#3
Steer clear personally, probably phone the police

Too many of them carry knives now days so it's not worth the risk even if you think you can take them on
#4
give him a kick or two

Phone the police and let them sort it out, simple as !

yes but, by the time they had compiled their paperwork it could be too late and I would feel very guilty if it was
#6
ok but the guy cud b a rapist etc, might have tried to chat up one of the youths and they werent having any of it......gotta b careful nowadays on road.
#7
I tried to help someone before and got a thump so no i wouldnt do it again, but when i tried to help there were other people about men bigger then little old me and they did nothing and watched me get hurt NICE

Question for you acecatcher;
If Gary Glitter jumped on your back, would you leave him there or toss him off?:p

I agree but always think of it this way...................

Imagine it was your son or daughter laying on the ground being beaten to a pulp by a gang.. and there were people walking on, not helping.. how would you feel.

I would always ring the police then I would try to do something. Yep i may be injured or killed but one day it could me my child noone is helping...

I would take the risk...

I was in town the other day and some woman just collapsed (she was about 45-50). She hit the floor and started having what looked like a fit. I was about 25 metres away having a fag and as soon as I see her fall I started rushing over. Everyone else just walked past her completely ignoring her.

That's people for you now days, she's OK now anyway I used my First Aid skills to get her in the recovery position and monitor her until an ambulance arrived (I was in the military for over 4 years and that's the first time i've had to do first aid oddly enough)

I know how you feel, the same thing happened to me and I'm male, 6 foot and 16 stone I could have lost an eye. I'd feel terrible but you can't risk getting involved. It's a shame there's not more cops on the beat rather than on traffic duty clocking up speeding fines.

Skusey - where the heck do you live? Personally I would call the police, I wouldn't get involved NO WAY, but then again I live in quite a rural town, it's not to small but not too big either. If ever I saw it, it would be on a Saturday night, outside a pub well re-knowned for bother, in which case, in our town there's always a copper van parked outside waiting for bother!! Everyone knows evreyone here, so you either stop and stare (if you know them!) or walk on by!!!!:-D:thumbsup:

I live in Cirencester(Gloucestershire)
It is just a question though, not happened to me

yep totally hear what your saying, totally understand but i would never ever be able to sleep at night again if i had not have helped. But them maybe thats my police side in me coming out. Had I not had the training etc maybe I would not think like this. Who knows.

I just know I would never forgive myself for not helping. Thats me all over though, hot headed and would get involved without thinking. Instinct takes me over.
