You're right.
It is a silly question.

Why would they get a different version? Do we have a different version of the FIfa World Cup 2010 game, in which England actually win it?

In the Wolfenstein games I know that they don't display the nazi symbol but instead just display the Wolfenstein logo.

So yes, sometimes they do alter things for the Germans. They have stricter guidelines with regards to content in videogames.

Not a silly question at all,
Infact Yes they do have a different version of the game due to stricter guidelines.

In germany they cannot show blood in video games, the blood has to be unrealistic. Usually they show it as green, but i think in Team fortress 2 they have streamers fly out.

i thought this was only for older games. I believe now you can buy adult (18+) versions of most popular games over there which show blood and gore.

Its just the blood which is removed or toned down by censors. Not references to world wars.

They remove Nazi flags as in Wolfenstein. I know it's the law in germany not to display a nazi flag but it's in-game, not a real flag so that should have been kept in.

I dont thnk it matters if it is a phyiscally 'real' flag, more the symoblism. I can see what you saying, in terms of historical accuracy, but many people in germany still find it very offensive.
