Ive read a few previous posts on this phone and it all seems pretty good  , was thinking about usin the empire store 40% off code and getting it on voda for £120

At the moment i have a d600 i could probably flog it on ebay for 70 / 80 quid, so that would help me pay towards k800i

Would this be a wise move im really hesitating weather im gonna like k800i as ive never had a S/E handset just nokia / sharp / samsung really

Its just the 3.2 megapixels im looking at seein as im never gonna be able to afford an n95!

You wont regret getting a K800, the menus and stuff are really simple to use. Obviously if you've never used a SE before it may take a few days to become accustomed with the interface, but once you are used to it you'll prob never use a samsung etc again. The camera is simply awesome and the xenon flash is what makes it, especially when you're out in pubs/bars/clubs etc. So i say go for it

btw can you really get that much for a D600 on ebay?

You'll be lucky to get more than £45-£50 for a D600 on Ebay.

^^^ thats what i was thinking :giggle:

ones just gone for £67 inc p+p not half as good as mine condition wise :-D

well have to see what i can fetch :)

depends if its branded and open to all networks too

Get the K800, just don't go on Voda!!

I don't know about the K800 - but i've had a Sharp and a Nokia on Voda and they 'lock-out' (disable) certain features of the handset!! On the Sharp it was Bluetooth that was locked out - you could only connect to a headset!

Have got a Nokia 6233 on Voda at the moment (through my job) and there's a handful of functions disabled!

If you get it on O2 - it'll already be unlocked for any network - you can then pop your Voda sim into it (if you really must!)

Had my K800 for a while now - it's Fab!

^ Good point. I personally hate companies who do this, Vodafone and Orange are particularly bad. I've got a K800i on O2, that's what I'd recommend.

yep network branding sucks. Voda branding is bad, but i think 3 is worse. You cant navigate on the phone without pressing a button which automaically connects you to their download portal :giggle:

o2 seem to lock out the installation of java applications on their D900s. :?

I must try via the PC software...

had the k800i about a week, and i am really pleased. The camera is very good, as is the video. its easy to use as well. On a foot note i had the one thats got all the james Bond crap in it, and despite it being from o2, its not locked

eh? really? Thats a strange thing for O2 to do. What does it say when you try to install it?

Hi mate

I was in same situation, D600 - K800i!

You won't regret it, if you think Samsung's user menus are good (like I did) wait til you use the SE :)

Also if you get it on Voda (like I did) get it debranded for £7, its a DIY thing, and never regretted it.

Voda murder this phone, if you do decide to get it, do debrand it!

Nice one, sounds like a good move, what about the size? thats a bit worrying too
I prefer flip phones to be honest then the screen doesnt get as scratched

Would you say its big compared to your old d600?

LOL mate, exactly the same as me again. I got tiny hands, I only like the tiny phones!

Its about 1/2 cm taller, roughly the same everything else. Screen is a lot nicer (before this I thought Samsung were)

But the features is worth the size. Camera is awesome for pics, video recording is poor. I do think the K800i is a brick though! Only thing I don't like about it, but 100% good move.

Its extremely user friendly. Eg D600 to send a text, menu, text message, create message, continue, send, send to who, send to anyone else, sure u want to send? etc etc! With the K800 message, text message, send. It even has a list of recently sent numbers, so you don't have to keep going in your phone book. (Last 10 I think)

Again same with me, I like flip / slide phones. I was worried a bit that the K800i is 'boring' candybar phone, but you get used to it.

It must be because it's 'the bond version' which I guess O2 must have had to pay quite a bit for! - Both me and OH have a K800 on O2 - both unlocked out of the box, friend has one on Orange - locked. we all got them when they first came out last year (september?)

yurp exactly what im thinking. Cant wait, as much as i love my K800, i want a new phone!!

I friend of mine just got the new Nokia n90-something - the one with the 5 meg camera - it's very nice!!! - just wondering what Sony's response will be????
#20
that'll be the N95. Think that'll be too big for me, plus i dont like all the flip twist and shout phones. Candybar imo is the best design.

SE will no doubt have a 5mp camera phone on the horizon, havent been keeping track on www.esato.com/board of late, but they're sure to have the latest spy pics and news for you to absorb

New SE is the K810i due out around July.

Still only got a 3.2 mp camera though.
