I'm with Iom the provider has an unlockode should be able to send you it for around £15.
Ducky has some links to unlocking sights I'm sure I'll see if I can find it

A friend of mine unlocked his Orange K800 using a program off of the net- he had to pay a one-off usage charge of sorts, wasn't too much, certainly not what the networks and shops charge.
He did, however, say it was a bit scary - one false move and he'd have killed his handset!!!

sounds like this is what your pal used:

http://www.wotanserver.com/en/

i used it and it's nervy, but did the trick. one credit to unbrand, one more to upgrade firmware. this allows you (amongst other stuff) to have a silent shutter on the camera when in meeting mode - great in this weather for taking pictures of scantily-clad girls without them knowing.

(joke, sorry not a very funny one, i realise there are some pervs about, but that's life.)

mine's got a silent shutter anyway, when it's on silent mode. - The flash gives it away though!!!

what? you flashing or the camera?

arf arf.

weird, i thought that they had to have a sound even in silent mode to protect people's privacy, must be an urban myth.

I know the first load of camera phones always made a noise, no matter what profile you have selected. But mine is definately muted in silent mode.
