Suffice to say, hes the greatest football player in the world, (Ronaldo is a prolific cheat so he cant be classed as the best)

Nah, not a lifetime..
#13
Yep, a lifetime, from now until I die I doubt I will earn the £500,000 he is reported to have been offered as a weekly wage
#14
£1/2 mill / week ?

Crazy

Only good thing about that is knowing you could help others out... who the heck needs that kinda money

Mildish rant over
#15
Some papers are saying 250,000 a week, other 500,000. I know these arabs are rich but surely they cant afford to be paying that sort of money to players forever
#16
Especially @ this time - really gonna pi ss folk right off
#17
Bring back the good ol days o Maine Rd / Kippax :p
#18
I dont care if they pay him a million a week so long as he helps us win the champions league he will be worth ever penny
#19
Sad but inevitable - footballs seems to have become big business or a plaything for the wealthy... that's how I feel about the P'ship - wish I didn't
#20
Apparantly Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite is being offered £500k a week.

Even if man city do sign him they will still be turd.

Lower leagues is where the proper stuff is.

At the moment, as much as i hate to say it, but for me the only proper team in the prem are villa. A team built on good ethics, good management and non excessive spending to achieve their goals.

Thanks for your valuable input ! I always appreciate the sentiments of someone who likes Rick Astley 'Ironically'

So much for the credit crunch.
I wonder how many ferrarri's he will crash against the walls of tunnels.
The world has gone nuts!

Without knocking Man City why on earth would Kaka want to go there (or anywhere other than the big 6 European sides)

It just shows that with the right amount of money a player will go anywhere.

Without massive investment right throughout the team they still aren't going to get in the top four.

2 big name players aren't going to do that alone, or are they targeting others too.

Has he actually signed then?

No it's just a strong rumour.

£175 million on the back of the Sun. (so probably about £35 paypal gift)

Skysports

Manchester City are reported to be willing to pull out all the stops to sign AC Milan star Kaka.

As revealed by Sky Sports News on Tuesday, a City delegation led by chief executive Garry Cook travelled to Italy on in a bid to pull off the world record transfer.

Cash-rich City are believed to be ready to pay £100million to land the Brazilian superstar and are prepared to offer Kaka lucrative personal terms to lure him to Eastlands.

Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has always insisted Kaka was not for sale at any price but the move has gathered pace after a website owned by Berlusconi reported City's interest was serious and that they intend to sign Kaka "at all costs".

"This time they (City) are here for real with an official delegation," said the report on the Mediaset website.

"Manchester City want Kaka at all costs and they have shown their cards.

"Garry Cook, two representatives of Sheik Mansour and Kia Joorabchian, who is acting as a mediator, met with Adriano Galliani and Ernesto Bronzetti (Milan chief executive and commercial director) and made their offer."

If City were to be successful in their deal to sign Kaka it would dwarf the world record transfer of £46million that took Zinedine Zidane to Real Madrid in 2001.

You answered your own question, as a city fan yes, your right no 'massive' player would want to come to city at the moment unless its for the money so in this day and age we need to get the mercenaries in in order to get the ball rolling, once Kaka and Robinho are playing regularly, others top quality players will be more inclined to join in the summer. ADUG want 'Two world class players figting for every position'

Ps, some of these players might actually fancythe challenge of creating a world class team from scratch and being there from the beginning being instrumental

Insomaniac, from your point of view do you think what is happening at Man City is a good thing for football, and do you honestly believe that City will become a major force in the Premiership.

Finally do you think Hughes will be replaced soon?
[mod]#33
I don't think he'll sign.......not if he has any passion left for playing at the top of football.

If he does then Man City wouldn't get the best out of him as he obviously would have only gone for the money and not for footballing reasons.
#34
with so many people currently losing their jobs and unable to get a mortgage or even feed their families I personally find this beyond belief! what a kick in the teeth for the ordinary british citizen this is.

I have no axe to grind with man city or any other club but this is utter madness-I have long thought that football should follow the draft pick system used in american sports -this means that nobody can buy all the best players and the league becomes far more open and exciting when any club can win it.

there is absolutely no kudos imho in winning anything because you have a bigger bank account than everyone else-sport should be a level playing field.

lol, nothing like blinkers is there:

1st - Christiano Ronaldo
2nd - Lionel Messi
3rd - Frenando Torres

So even discounting Ronaldo as a cheat, he still didn't make the top 3!

He can't answer you right now.
#37
This makes a mockery of the game if this goes through.
[mod]#38
Apparently, latest sources say Kaka has said "No Thank You"

If true then at least he shows he's a proper football man and wouldn't sacrifice his career just for money.

Um.... discounting Ronaldo would leave only two, making plenty of room for Kaka.

I see it more as

1- Kaka
2 - Messi
3 - Ronaldo
(and Pele agrees with me)

Heres a little video of Kaka Vs Messi http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_city/7830199.stm

Anyway Kaka hasnt said 'No thanks' Kaka has given the old classic line ;I want to stay at this club, unless they dont want me' covering all angles in case the deal falls through. Looks now like ADUG have pulled out, most probably due to ridiculous demands by the playe such as guarantees Robinho wont be sold and that he can leave if we dont get Champions league, we want someone to play at the club not run it !

Greg 68, its a good thing for English football, we would have 3 of the four best players in the world in the premiership, if you mean good for football as a whole its will not make a significant difference, Kaka is a special player who we have bid well over the odds to secure his services, the same thing would have happened for Messi or Ronaldo by other clubs, these arent your average transfer deals these are once in a lifetime silly deals, they wont affect other transfers.

Of course City will be a major force, if your going to around buying the best players in the world and you get a manger who knows how and when to play them then success will eventually come.

Do I think Hughes will be there in the summer? I would bet my right leg that he wont be. He doesnt have the vision or ambition of the ADUG that why they are after Kaka and he's after Bellamy. He thinks he's still managing Blackburn Rovers on a budget trying to achieve midtable mediocrity.

I would say will either get Mancini or Scolari in summer, I think if Kaka DOES come and chelsea achive nothing this season then Scolari is a very good bet, if not Mancini, either way Hughes will be out.
