Not been recently but when I went it was the best place on earth. Digs are all a dump so dont bother shopping around and paying more for some place that looks nice, they're all bad, but you only ever crash in your pad for a few hours, your out all the time partying. Have a good holiday!

Depends what you want out of your holiday. If you're not bothered about culture etc and want to go out a lot, Kavos is fine. Otherwise...I'd avoid it.

I went there on an 18-30's a few years ago...was good for that. Didn't see much of the surrounding area though

Thanks all , am not looking for the clubbing scene as will have my 10 year old son with me, really the beaches and pool will be fine, not worried about the lively atmosphere as I quite like people watching!

Not sure it's the kind of place I'd like to go if I was taking a child, even if you were only gonna go to the beach and pool.

Hi Angelfairee, thanks for that, even if I hire a car, if I can find my licence it must be a bit okx

Why so bad x I seems to be the cheapest place to go at the moment, and all he wants is a pool

Think it's just my preference really. Kavos is one of those places like Faliraki, where people my age go to get drunk, go out, pull and not do much else. Even if you went to the beach it would just be full of hungover drunkards being idiots with their white bellies out! Haha.

I think it's fine if you're on a budget, and in the daytime it can be nice because there's lots of shops to have a nosy around and most of the hungover people don't get up until lunchtime. However, there are a lot nicer places in Greece which I would take over Kavos any day.

How much are you looking to spend? And when do you want to go?

Hi if i book going on Friday, for 4 people, its under £1300 for 2 weeks from gatwick and am taking my dad and his GF, hes not fazed by anything sure he can look after us! Thanks for your response, What do you think about the pricex

Ps: What your age! after reading all the aboves?

It's a pretty average price for a late deal to that kind of resort. They're cheap because no one wants to go there. For 2 weeks for 4 people to get away from this horrible weather and be in a nice country though, it's a really good price.

I am by no means trying to put you off the holiday, just trying to give an outlook of what to expect. I wasn't trying to say you'd be in any kind of danger or anything like that, because you will be absolutely fine. Just trying to say that it's the kind of resort that I personally would avoid because I don't like the whole clubbing scene and want to enjoy a holiday in peace. I'm 21...you wouldn't have guessed it, would you?!

I love Greece as a country and the Greek Islands especially. The food is awesome, the people are lovely (and love kids!) and the weather is really good as well. The thing that ruins it is the people that go there, and Kavos has turned into an Ibiza-esque place, like Faliraki, Malia etc etc. I wouldn't be surprised if you'd have to dodge the sick when you went to the beach/walked anywhere.

I'll have a peek... I'm getting good at it now.. Been looking for over a week for next summer... Might book early this time because the prices aren't that bad and with the fuel prices only going one way holidays might get more expensive.. Have booked DIY holidays for the last five years but I think flights might be expensive next year..

went to kavos a few years ago and not much to do outside of the town center.roads wern't really built, more like dirt tracks.most people that go there were on an 18-20(i was only 20 but still felt out of place)i would not go again coz there was nothing to do or see, apart from pubs and clubs.

If you are not going for the nightlife you will be disappointed!!! If you want a beach, then book the booze cruise while you are there

I had a brilliant time but it is just one of those places where you are there for the night time, not the day

I went to Kavos last year a it was really good for what we went for (nightlife), but I wouldn't recommend it for what you want as there are plenty of other resorts which would suit your requirements better for a similar price. Most of the hotels like somebody else said arent brilliant and if it was one near centre you wouldnt get any sleep from the noise! We stayed in the Olympion Village Apartments which were very nice and just a short walk to the town so not as noisey as some of the others.

Not a nice smell to Kavos either and mainly just full of bars and clubs. With there being loads of other resorts I would avoid Kavos for what you are after
