Kevin McNaughton Makes Me Sick

When i first saw this article, i thought it was a ludacris attempt at The Sun to make a sexism row. But looking at the video, it is obvious to me that this is intentional.

Sorry that we were completley owning your team all across the field yesterday, but that is just pathetic. Could of been quite funny if it was done to a male assistant, but for a man to do that to a woman makes me sick, shes been completley victimized.

Shouldn't treat her any differently, she deserves no extra sympathy than a male linesman.

The sexuality of the linesman should not come in to this.

If she can't stand the heat she should get back in the kitchen oO

If it had of been a male linesman nothing would be made of it. She got back up and got on with the job like a male would have done, so why does it have to be about gender?
banned#4
that is pretty sick!
#5
well at least she was a lot tougher than this bloke

To be fair, after watching the video it does look as if he has done it on purpose which is totally wrong, doesn't matter who the linesperson is

Yeah but the OP seems to think it'd be funny if it was a man and making a meal of it because its a woman

I agree.
Who wouldn't at least raise a hand to say sorry, to anyone after putting the shoulder into the back like that?
#10
Looks like he meant to do it to me, an apology would have been nice, whether male or female linesperson.

Sexuality? Surely you mean gender....
#13
wow he actually turns to knock her over... footballers seem to get more and more childish every year.

off topic, but OP needs some spelling lessons fast ;)

Looks deliberate, gender shouldn't be an issue, what should be is the players unsportsmanlike behaviour.

Nah, he got hoes for that.
#18
It doesn't look deliberate to me, he keeps the ball in play then goes to go after it - happens plenty of times in a match.

That said, after he went into her he should have offered an apology and at least gave her a hand up...

This.

If that was done in a rugby match then the player would be cited and I would expect him to face a lengthy ban.

keeps the unemployment figures down I suppose in that hellhole called Middlesborough ;)

His walk away and not look back approach only makes it seem even more purposeful. Seems to me like he had no chance of reaching the ball in time anyway.

I don't understand these hooligans - all it takes is an apology either after the incident or after the match to make the issue disappear. The club and seemingly players refusal to give this just escalates the issue further.

I watched the match and it didn't look deliberate. She was laughing about it seconds later too.
#24
he is going to be getting special attention from the refs over the next few games now.

Right, im just replying without mutli-quoting, cos it always messes up for me

I think my spelling is quite good, couple of typos but OK..
I dont live in Middlesbrough..
The thread is about the woman linesman being victimized for her gender (so gender does come into it for that purpose) (also, sexualality LOL)

You forgot to add that you are a mind reader since you know for a fact the the only reason he made contact with the lines person is because it was a woman.

+1

footballers do this all the time - doesnt make them sexist women beaters just cos the lines'person' is female

just means they're narcissists!

mans a coward in my opinion.

even if it was an accident"aye right" you would at least see if she was ok considering hes about twice the weight of her.
#29
Looked to me like he was heading straight for the TV camera so had to swerve pretty sharp & she just happened to be in the way.

He should have gone back to see if the ASSISTANT REFEREE was ok though.

She looked like she enjoyed it

Fair play to her, she got straight back up. It would have been funnier if we had got this reaction though

hope we get cardiff in the playoffs, he's a complete tool at the best of times. Some abuse will be thrown I'm sure.

Fair play to Sian for 'Getting on with it' whereas half the comments made seems to saying if she can't stand the heat.... She's not the one actually complaining.

To be fair I'm not sure why he didn't help her up, male or female doesn't matter it's only fair to offer a hand.

RFC - why the rubbish? Seeing anyone hurt is funny aslong as not seriously. Do you cry when watching you've been framed? Especially as that has children god forbid. Grow a pair and enjoy people hurting themselves!!
