Keyboard & Mouse for elderley parent

Just sorted a PC & broadband for my dad's 76th birthday. He has never used one before. Today was his first lesson :) Anyway, he has bad eyesight, so I am getting this keyboard. However, I could do with a very simple mouse, no wheel, no right-click, a simple one-click one, as his finger was constantly pressing either the wheel or the right-click.
Any ideas?

Either try and find a mac style mouse or use a normal one and disable the other buttons.

I sorted out the double-click speed, and mouse pointer speed for sensitivity, but could not see an option for disabling the wheel or right-click.

Have you turned on the windows accessibility options?

No, I could give this a try. I am on Windows 7 here, but my dad's PC is XP. Just looked on Windows 7, I could not see anything obvious that might help with the mouse keys.

:) It is a 6 year old Dell laptop, but, re-installed XP and it runs great. External USB keyboard and mouse, and huge monitor, and it is looking good for my dad. Just need to sort this right-click issue out.

Hmm, disabling the right-click via a registry hack would definitely help, will try that. Ideally, I would make it, and the wheel perform a left-click.

That looks good, cannot believe the price though :(

And, just to confirm, the keyboard is this one.

Have looked about and unless you want a button type mouse then the
price will be about the £24 etc

Great, looks like AutoHotKey will do the trick perfectly. Looks like I can map the middle and right buttons to be a left click :)

Thanks

the keyboard looks good but you can get stickers in bight colours to add to the keyboard he has? i have some somewhere i think cos son has them on his school laptop..the thing with them is you just add the ones you want...ie just the keys he will use so it doesnt confuse him.
