kia pride clutch problems

ive got a kia pride, and my clutch has just gone. any ideas how much its gonna cost? do kwik fit do it, and are they any good. thanks

it's not working, cant get up hills etc

It could just be the clutch cable - not vastly expensive. If the clutch has really gone, then take a deep breath when you are told the cost.

a new clutch disc is expensive

my driving instructors went just b4 xmas ...... peugot 307 = £420 ish

i went to mr clutch for a new clutch on my vw polo - it cost 200 and was there overnight - seemed reasonable

I just had new clutch and flywheel on my Audi - £700!!

although kia's are a cheap car there parts are not!!! As a general rule - the smaller the car the lower the labour.

I would advise that you ask for a clutch kit which will include the release bearing if its cable operated. Or if its hydraulic operated i would get a price for the slave cylinder to be replaced aswell. If this goes after the clutch is replaced then it's the same labour again to replace this i'm afraid - so it makes sense to replace it. Hope this helps you.
