Kindle light idea

I was having a discussion with my other half about needing a light to read my new Kindle e-reader at night in bed.I didn't fancy a clip on one as I haven't got a suitable cover to attach it to and I can't afford to buy one of those nice (but expensive) Amazon ones yet.
He says he's got just the thing and comes back with a headlamp
You know the one's I mean (he's a cyclist and it's a bright little led light on a headband that you can wear on your head!)
Anyway, after fits of laughter I realised that it may not be such a bad idea after all.I tried it on and it works perfectly even if I look a bit daft but as it's for night time who cares!
It only cost a couple of quid so it is a cheap option.
Anyway I thought I'd share, if only to give you all a giggle!

I must admit to being a bit dissapointed when I found out that I couldn't read at night without a light but I've found that it's so much kinder on the eyes and gives me less headaches than when Reading off a lighted screen.
BTW you can get Kindle for the PC for free if you don't want an ebook reader.
I also had the kindle app on my iPod touch which is why I got so many headaches :-)

It can't be backlit as it's e-ink which works like a book (light reflects off the white areas and is absorbed by the black type). Your iPad screen projects light into your eyes but the kindle light is reflected. This is why it is easier to read and why you can read in bright sunshine.

Anyway this is a long explanation for why the lack of a backlight isn't a missing feature but kind of the point of owning an ereader (e-ink).
