Hi, I was just wondering if there are any microsoft kinect users here who have actually read the terms and conditions of use and can either confirm or deny that ms state that they own the copyright to any images captured by the kinect camera.

There are rumours that it states that any images/video captures may be shared with third parties etc.

I have bought one but it's all wrapped up so cant open it.

There are claims that is is listed in section 9 and 12. I'm thinking that it'sjust one of these internet conspiracy theories but wondered if anyone has read them and can say for sure.

It supposedly only effets users who go oline with kinect.

I doubt MS care about owning a picture of you flailing your arms at the TV in your dressing gown.

Pretty much what I said but apparently all it takes is a wave of the arm to activate it so you could be broadcasting from your home without realising.

I doubt it is true too but wanted to know for sure.

Did read some nonsense that they would be targeting advertising based on things the camera sees, such as football strip etc.

So after most HUKD users play on the Kinect, it will probably show endless adverts of Slimfast :D

Apparently, this is why:

Nevets

In good faith I think if your dumb enough to do stupid S@#t in front of a camera thats connected to the web they should use it against you; MS is just protecting them selves due to a little case where a family of a known pedophile tried to sue after MS gave the feds his home address because the **** convinced a ten or eleven year boy to pose nude in front of camera in exchange for XBL points check it out it happened in central Florida

Hissy Miss, you can disable this on the Xbox dashboard, in privacy settings I think. I think it is set to disabled from the off so you actually have to turn it on to share the image's.

it will be the logos and game titles around the pictures that are copywrited

It's about civil liberties and why ms felt they had to add this to their T&C's. Would I be right in thikning you're a teenager?

Someone seeing a picture of me flapping about like a dafty is not a big deal, it's the bigger picture I'm worried about.

I wont be using it online anyway, any thoughts I had of that have now been stumped out.

Thanks to the members who explained why (still dont think it makes it right) and how to disable it.
