Kitchen nightmare.

Hi,

I am presently FUMING!!

HOMEBASE are the worst kitchens that I have ever encountered. And for Nigh-on £3k I am disgusted.

I have fitted about 7-8 kitchens in my time and I was asked by a couple of octogenarians, (relatives) if I could fit their one for them.

Sure! No probs.

Started Thursday and it is a NIGHTMARE.

Very poor build. Essential components amiss. POOR instruction. Poor design.

So bad, in fact that I vow never to fit another from this same company.

Suggest you look to Wickes or MFI. - Presently, far superior.

I have no experience of B&Q

Ikea definitely - Which? have rated them well for years and
we've fitted 2 in different houses and had no problems at all...
although I have friends who had trouble with stock availability,
they had no problems with the actual kit once they got it.

I wish I had the DIY skillz to do my own kitchen.

I cannot say I am that surprised by this, Homebase = Argos after all and I've experienced Argos furniture in the past, never again.

MFI kitchens aren't that great. We had a new kitchen fitted this year and I don't think its that spectacular.

Of all of the kitchens that I have fitted MFI are the easiest to fit.

Prices seem quite reasonable.

Their quality is Howdens joinery AFAIK which isn't all that bad. Fitted PROPERLY they will last for a long time and they dont arrive battered, unlike some.

Perhaps someone would like to elucidate on their opinion of MFI not being so good?

I have not looked at the Ikea range but will certainly do so in the future.

B and Q cheapos are ok to fit, obviously not the best quality but then your not paying top dollar.

All go together with no hassle and bang them up no worries.

Only thing I never used was their hanging brackets for the wall units as had my own and they were far better
