Basically the water drainage from the washer is going up into the sink in small amounts and its starting to smell!
The flow of the drain is the blue line but whats happening is the yellow line
Me being a DIY novice i wondered if theres any other fitment/part i could attach to stop this happening

probably just a blockage in yr bend

yeah, first run hot water into it for 5 minutes make sure its not a frozen pipe.

Then get Mr Muscle foamer and empty the whole bottle down there and leave as per the instructions, that will sort it.

Or if you want to, unscrew all the pipes, wash them out in the bath, and reassemble them. Its usually the wifes hair in mines, lol.

I would say blockage too

couple of spoons of bicarbonate of soda sprinkled in your plug hole followed by vinegar let it foam up ad when it has stopped fizzling run the hot tap and all should be okay

I took all mine apart when we had a blockage. You'll be surprised at the amount of gunk that gets stuck in the u-bend!

your "washer out" drain is lower than your "outside drain" iirc this should be higher, this might be a contributing factor. As advised check pipes for any blockages. Does sink water drain properly?

i have cleaned it and it was slightly crapped up! but know its going to keep occuring
Just wondered if i could somehow get the washer drainage to bypass the sink

The washer drainage shouldn't attach to the sink u bend lol

Dirty sink water will be going into your washer. Is it dish washer or washing machine?

Why not? There are plenty of setups like this for washing machines. The drain hose in a setup like this should be raised by about 4/5 inches to stop sink waste going down the pipe as you say though.

meanwhile, put the plug in the sink when using the washer? ( housewife answer not a plumber :))

Can't really see where you washer drain goes (up/down) but being lower than the outlet I'm suprised your washing machine doesn't get full of dirty dish water too.
