Went about a month ago we stayed in a holiday inn express it was on the outskirts about
30' walk though but a hotel bus was available to and from town centre at 1 euro.
V nice hotel got it about 45euros per room inc breakfast !

We pre-booked a private airport transfer for 130 zloty (about £30 then ) in total - airport was about 20' to the hotel !

BTW Krakow is a really nice place - well recommended

2007, we stayed at:

It was absolutely fine and a really great location; all within a short walking distance as it was inside the Planty. I don't know what it costs now but we generally budget modestly!!

You will enjoy the city tremendously if you are in the old centre.
I can't remember how far the airport was - nothing excessive. We booked a shuttle.
It was 60 polish zloty each way booked with krakow shuttle (www. krakowshuttle.com - but I haven't checked it's still operating).

I wouldn't bother booking a taxi from the airport-its v easy, out of the airport and less than 5 mins walk to the train station, (there is a shuttle bus if needed) trains run every 20 minutesish right to the centre of Krakow.Fares can be bought on the train or use the ticket machine.About 6-8 zlotty each.If you use a tram in Krakow remember you have to pay for your luggage!
Have a great trip.
We stayed in a hotel just outside Krakow and used the trams-very cheap, you can also buy 24/48 and weekday tickets.

Just another thought-when you order your currency ask for the notes in as low a denomination as possible-some shops can be wary of 50 zlotty notes and smaller shops also frown on 20's. If any of your party is a student take your card with you as lots of places offer student discount.

Also we found that exchange office in the main market offered an excellent rate. Don't know if that still holds.
