Yeah - that was bad...

I think he has broken his ankle, it mentioned it on the mclaren team radio just before it went for a break - sounded like they told Hamilton that Kubica had broken his ankle...

Good that hes ok - kind of anyway

The sheer force of that i'm surprised its just an Ankle thats broken, The cars are improving safety wise all the time and it shows!

It was a violent impact and you could see by his head movement the amount of force!

Finally something interesting happened in Formula 1

Reports of Kubica breaking anything are wide of the mark, he is fine, He momentarily lost consciousness immediately after the accident, that is all.

And those who think this kind of thing is good for Formula 1, well i think thats pretty disgusting.

Formula1sport.net
Contrary to earlier reports that said the 22-year-old Pole had broken a leg in his horror 280kph crash in the Canadian grand prix, BMW-Sauber team boss Mario Theissen confirmed that Kubica is actually fully intact.

He told Sport-Informations-Dienst that suspicions of a broken leg were not confirmed after thorough checks at the Sacre-Coeur hospital.

The official ITV-F1 page also reports similar. Wikipedia states that Robert has suffered a sprained ankle, and light brain trauma, and that his condition will be assesed on Monday.

He was bloody lucky, If you watch old crashes, Peoples have had a crash with less damage and have had serious injuries.
#16
Yeah, they are a lot safer nowadays thanks to the driver having allot more head and kneck support, and better design with an emphasis on safety.

to be honest a f1 car is probably the saftest car to be in even in high speed crashes. but as soon as i saw the crash, the word richard hamilton just jumped into my head
