ladies....best place to buy leggings from?

Hi,

I fancy getting a couple of pairs of black leggings to wear with short dresses but having never bought any before, where is the best place to buy good quality ones that aren't too expensive? Which store has the best quality that wash well and fit well size wise.

Thanks

After an extensive search by me.......Topshop came out the winners with Dorothy Perkins a close second; both great for tall women too.

I would say matalan or dorothy perkins. I think they are £6 in matalan and £12 in dorothy perkins.

TS do regular and tall, DP do petitie, regular and tall so they do cater for all.

Price is from £8 but the last pairs I got from TS were £12 each but still going strong after a year, no bunching at the knees and the elasticity still great after numerous washes.

Avoid getting really cheap ones, you do get what you pay for :)

my stomach is going to be the problem!! lol I hate it when they dig in cos they are elasticated and you get that telltale 'line' .

Just looked and so many to choose from!! Aaarghhhh:?

That's why i asked you ladies as i didn't want to get cheap ones that fall apart very quickly. I see some good ones on women but haven't got the nerve to go up and ask them where they got them from.

If you tried to rip my leggings I'd slap you and send you packing. Can't you see how hard it is to find a good pair?! :p

Whilst there is a thread here, where do you get cheap white leggings from? My friend looked in the usual places, Tesco, Sainsburys, Primark, Peacocks, but they didn't have any.

Try Next or look on ebay

Try NEXT, they have them cheap, or New Look, not something I'd wear myself, but then I'm a jeans kinda woman, stuck in my ways, maybe I should take a leap of fashion and dare to wear them?

I'm quite a good size, 10ish
I'm, in between not fantastically slim, nor very good legs (well in my eyes).

I buy them for my kids anyway and they always look good, with a longline top.

I've always thought I would look bad in them but going to give them a go. Just want to wear them with dresses or long tops and not have to wear jeans all the time. Plus they'll hide my knees!! I have stretch marks on my knees so am not comfortable going bare legged.

lol you got there first:)

Where's your avvy? :)
#28
I tried loads of shops but Next has come top for me everytime. I live in leggings and am still using last years as colour, shape etc still as good as when I first got them :)
#29
I recommend Marks & Spencer (about £8.00), but best pair I own is Ethel Austin (about £5) and the only pair out of 7 pairs I have had that don't sag at the knee, even the M&S ones do slightly

But Fern, for the wedding I think a dress would be nice:thumbsup:

Ah no biggy, just deciding what to put next, just having a change you know?

How's you Marina? Well I hope?

I'm good thanks. :) Hope you are too Star. :)

EDIT: You have got an avvy now :p
#32
IMO the £4 all over control ones from Primark (although they are very thick) for thinner ones £8 M&S control ones
#33
Just an update...I tried the ones in Ethel Austin, M&S, Next and didn't like them at all. Bought some today from Peacocks. Ordinary leggings for £6 and the stirrup ones for £10 will some of that being donated to Tickled Pink Cancer Charity. They have a small pink bow at the top but they felt comfy on and I can wear boots with them and don't have to worry about them riding up.

My neighbour bought some of the control ones from Avon which she is happy with as they suck your butt up and cup it and also have a control panel for the tummy. My butt's perfect enough so I left them!! lol :p
