Ladies I need some help!

Right, christmas is coming and would like to get my mum some beauty stuff (she needs it :giggle: )

Anyway, looking at the stuff she wouldnt buy herself, things like Clinique, can anyone reccomend anything? Shes 55 and worried about wrinkles just like any other women. Plus, is there anything you women would like but darent buy, from somewhere such as boots, because of the price tag? I.e. would be good as a crimbo pressie.

Then we move onto sister, shes all about haircare and expensive hair stuff. Can someone reccomend anything? She has longish, straighish hair, often coloured.

I don't know which brands are hip for my younger sister and don't know what females secretly want....if I did, I would be very rich!!

Any reccomendations gladly accepted!

You don't say how much you want to spend but since Clinique is expensive how about a complete facial treatment collection like this:

This is the QVC Todays Special Value and the price will go up again at midnight.

I have shopped with them for years and always buy the Moulton Brown TSV which is great value for money but don't know if there will be another before Christmas.

I'd reccomend http://www.boots.com/shop/product_details.jsp?productid=1073342&classificationid=1043654 for your sister. Its a really nice looking set and the products are good too!

Have you thought about products from "Lush" for your mum? I think normal face creams and cosmetics always look a bit samey and boring and Lush stuff always works wonders, smells ace and looks fun too. You might be best off popping into a shop as the staff are always really helpful but the webstore is pretty good aswell and there's always access to online reviews of products...

My mum loves boots no7 stuff. Why not try something like http://www.boots.com/brandtreatment/product_details_brand_treatment.jsp?productid=1057512&classificationid=1031594 and you'd get http://www.boots.com/shop/product_details.jsp?productid=1079933 free which would be a great gift :)

Last Christmas I got this for my mum, and she swears by it. The cheapest I could find it is HERE

but I'm sure its cheaper elsewhere as I bought it for £20

If my son bought me wrinkle cream he'd get a slap :giggle:
It's bad enough seeing my own wrinkles without thinking that my kids have noticed them too!

My mother-in-law bought me some a few years ago. I was never sure if it was meant kindly or maliciously but I thought it was quite funny. My husband, on the other hand, was mortally wounded on my behalf and spent months telling me that his mother had probably made a mistake and didn't realise what it was.

yes i recommend a nice beauty set but not a wrinkle cream unless she has asked for that
#14
Or a gift token, so that if she really wants wrinkle cream she can buy it for herself in secret.
#15
Nah know she likes it, always asks for something like it! Might go down the gift token route though, but it looks like you haven't bothered?

When I bought it I thought it was just an exfoliating kit, I didn't know it was a wrinkle cream too.

Yes. Go for it....but take photos of yourself before and after she opens it then we can see how hard she slaps you :-D
