Ladies & tattoos, whats your opinion?

I'm 30 soon and I was thinking of getting a tattoo for my B'day (turning 30 isn't *the* reason iykwim)..

I was thinking of something along the lines of this: http://www.boston.com/bostonglobe/ideas/brainiac/victoria-beckham-tattoo-neck.jpg

I have long hair so it wont be on show all the time/if I don't want it to be. I've not made up my mind what I want to it say yet as Ive only been thinking about it for a day or so.. so lots to consider.
My fella hates tattoos on women, so it could be a non-starter anyway!

But what do you think about women and tatts? (and btw, Ive heard it already 'slags and tags' blah blah blah.. ;0)

If you have them, do you have any regrets? And can I see some piccies if you do!?

I love tattoos on women ic certain places. Defo not on arms though (expect maybe a wrist)
#3
If she has a tattoo then she's prob a rough girl
#4
i think its personal preference, i have 5, however they are in places that are covered, only shown when i want them to be, everyone is different, have one if YOU want one, simple

I really don't like them on women, sorry x x

I like those tattoos too. Tbh it's personal prefernce, if the tattoo you get is because you want it, and it means something to you, then IMO it does not matter one jot what others think.

As long as it dosent affect your job or whatever then it's a non-issue really, tattoos are very mainstream now anyway. It's not just your stereotypical people having them in backstreet parlours.

I have 2 they are personal and I love them, they can be covered or shown, one is more visible than the other, I wouldn't change them and as for what happens when I am 80 and crinkly, hey I may not live that long!

In before someone S tags and rough fat birds..............oh wait

I'm female. I've got 12 tattoos now, so beware - it's addictive. Let me tell you one thing, my parents don't even know about mine, and when my three year old climber into bed with me one morning he noticed one on my back and asked what it was! They're just not in places I expose very often. I had them for different reasons, at different times in my life. For me they each represent something, so I've no regrets, nor can I imagine having any in the future. Don't be bothered by what other people think. But do put a lot of thought into what you have and where you have it - it will be there forever!

That's an understandable attitude if you're only exposed to a certain type of girl.

A lot of British women tend to get boring, unimaginative tattoos, often in the lower back area. They just tell you the girl is a follower, unimaginative and bland.

But some can be beautiful, wild and nice.

The disgusting 99% of the time, my view of tattoos on women are either they are trashy girls, or they have low self esteem and try to get a tattoo to improve there personal appearance.

oh yeah and you will regret it within 5years also.

I sincerely doubt it. I've had some of them for almost 15 years as it is. I don't do regrets. What's the point?

Humans do most things to 'improve there(sic) personal appearance'.

it's very rare one would do something to make their appearance (what they would consider) worse.

Impossible to say - one may regret not doing it in 5 years.

If you go through life worrying about regretting things, you'd never do anything.

Keep in mind "Cheral" has a few... Wont that affect you making your move on her, or is she in the 1%!? :)

Don't have a problem with gals having tattoos as such but take a disliking to generic (I will copy him / her) tattoos, feel tattoos that are done for specific reasons but wish some people would use originality.

I haven't got any myself as of yet but will be getting the Fairy soap baby and a pink ribbon on my arm in respect of my Mum's passing, she said she always wanted the Fairy soap baby herself but never got around to getting it done :(.

Having found some intimate tat's on women ( i.e covered up ) over the years, I personally have found it a nice surprise and a bit naughty to think that I'm one of only a few that know they're there.

I do think where it is is vital, and it does look tacky when they are all over the place and visible.

It's all down to personal taste, they've been around for 1000's of years, if they weren't popular they'd have died a death by now.

You do what you wanna do, make sure you're happy and stuff everyone else :-D
#26
Every time there is a tattoo thread you get the 'you will regret it in a few years', or only rough girls get tattoos'.

BULL!!!

I am 26 and have a number of tattoos, I am not a rough bird (rather straight laced conservative 2.4 kids etc) nor do I regret having any done (my first I was 15).

I have a half sleeve, one on each wrist, 4 on my back, and if I had more funds I would be covered.

I don't think that tatts are used to improve physical appearance (all of the time). Most people do it as an expression of themselves.

Myself, I just enjoy body modification, i.e piercing , stretching, tattooing. Before anyone says it no I am not a weirdo, I don't enjoy extreme body mods (dissection, scarification, branding).

My point is if you want it do it. Think about it beforehand though. Plus if you do regret it in the future it can be removed quite easily (stay with dark colours for this though).

i have 5 now first one about 14 years ago last one 8 years ago when daughter was born, and so far no regrets, all on top of arm or shoulder blades so i can hide them if want to.

Its upto u if u want one
#28
iv got a lovely one on my foot which i designed myself along side the artist,i think they can be really pretty if done with taste and not just following the trend s x
why not have a piercing instead then if u dont like u can get rid?

I think the Mrs C tattoo is hugely appropriate.

EDIT - just noticed it's a different c-word.

i like some, but certainly not that VB one. What on earth is it supposed to say / depict?

You have to consider happens if you wear a backless dress / swimming costume etc it's going to look stupid.

The only reason it looks good on VB is because of who she is not because of the actual tattoo, on anyone else (joe bloggs) it would look pretty carp IMO. The same goes with DB if his tattoos were on someone down the pub he'd be seen as a thug, but because of who he is he is seen as a style icon.
