I'm looking for moderate gaming usage on the move (hence the laptop). Those specs seem to cover a fair few games at an acceptable frame rate. My main question is can you get the same or better specs for a lower price?

Ah sorry ha its an Alienware m11x, i know the new i5 and i7 processors are getting put in these things now but is that a fair price?

I would avoid expensive electric refurbs to be honest.

Probably not really what you are after - CULVs are great CPUs for efficiency and battery life, but not all that powerful. That said, if you want the combination of small screen, battery life and half-decent graphics, there probably aren't many competitors...

Thank you for all your response up to now, i think with the way these comments are going the best thing to do is to keep looking.

Moob we disagree again, i always look at it this way, if its been refurbed the fault has already been found and fixed so your likely to have a trouble free time with the product

Saying that, i still don't think this laptop is worth that price

I've bought two electrical refurb products in recent years, and both have been faulty after a few months. To me that means they don't always resolve the problem. So yes, we do disagree on that.

Is this a Dell Outlet refurb? If so I wouldn't worry about that part, I've bought numerous refurbished machines from them and they've been in as new condition and worked fine. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a machine from the Outlet again, it's usually the first place I check although more recently I haven't seen much of interest.

The problem with the m11x is that there's really nothing else out there like it, if you're wanting a very compact gaming machine then it's the only one there is. While it may only have a CULV processor, its graphics card is reasonably potent and gives it solid game performance. Given there's few of these machines about and they're pricey from the main site, the price you've mentioned seems reasonable if this type of machine is what you're after.

you never bought a dixons/currys refurb then lol,yes i speak from experience.one laptop arrived with 2 keys that didn't work.
I got nothing against refurbs and im typing on a samsung one from argos ebay clearance now which has been great but just saying the problems are not always sorted as they should be.

Think you might get something better for over £600 tbh,Acer Timeline with i3 cpu and 8 hours battery life ive seen for £599 which might suite your needs and should be ok for moderate gaming.
