It has a VERY VERY slow CPU, and the laptop comes with Vista which is power hungry.

Windows 7 requires less power so I would say go for a new laptop with Windows 7 on it.

As an example this Dell comes with Windows 7 for only £329

http://configure.euro.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=uk&cs=ukdhs1&l=en&oc=N0054509&dgc=AF&cid=5212&lid=122756&acd=51b8abcb7c1a7ac8d52e09ba4501e231

Still a slow processor, but 3Gb of memery and should be OK for basic web browsing etc.

Or this from Sainsburys at £279 (if you can find one)

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/618310/laptop-compaq-presario-cq61-312sa-n

Again, not a great CPU (you wont get one for that money) but probably OK for basic surfing.

Thanks guilbert i thought the cpu was'nt very good.I was sure it had win 7 on it but all the ones i can find on the web have vista.
I still have a few weeks yet if i dont find anything suitable i will go for the dell thanks again mate.

Web site says it has a Blu Ray player, but I dont think that is right.

I don't recommend this model as not only is the processor relatively slow it also eats power as it a last generation model. Stretching a little further gets a whole lot more to work with.

This will give you about 2.5 times the cpu performance at less than £20 more.:)

Sil0 - feedback forum is for feedback about the site. I suspect you meant to post this in Misc which is the normal "advice" section.

I've asked the mods to move it to Misc
