Laptop Graphics Card Please Help?

Hi I need some help. I just bought a laptop from Dell outlet UK for £376, but it doesn't say what graphics card it will have which worry's me.

These are the specs:

Inspiron N5010
Hard Drive 500GB Serial ATA 5400RPM
Europe Dell Bluetooth 365 Card
Optical Drive : 8X DVD+/-RW Drive including software
LCD Back Cover : Mars Black
Display 15.6in HD (1366X768) WLED with TrueLife
4096MB (2x2048) 1333MHz DDR3 Dual Channel
MOD,SW,W7U64,DVD,MUI,NO-E
Processor : I5-430M(2.26GHz) RNR20
Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium (64 BIT)
1 Yr Collect & Return Warranty

I know that this laptop has either of these graphics cards:

1 GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 or Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD. I don't know the difference between them, and I don't know if this is a good deal for the laptop now.

I also want to know will I be able to change the graphics card in this laptop.

Thanks.

It hasn't got a dedicated card , it has integrated HD graphics. But I think you have got yourself a bargain.

Is this bad or good? and is there much difference between both graphic cards

An integreated graphics card is a "generic" card built into the motherboard. This is usually good enough for office work, and basic games, but not much more.

A dedicated graphics card is an "extra" card added to the laptop. these are better than the integrated card. You may be able to play SOME games at low frame rates.

Its all a gamble with dell outlet what you finally receive, there is a thread on here with people receiving the wrong cpu, i was tempted to buy a laptop there but the cpu was listed as misc ?

I am pretty certain that all N5010 models use integrated graphics which does not mean they are "generic", by the way. I have no idea why the term "generic" was used. To answer your earlier question correctly, an integrated graphics solution means that the GPU uses some of the system RAM rather than dedicated memory. Quite evidently, this means that dedicated graphics cards use (surprise, surprise) its own dedicated memory. The definitions are totally unrelated to whether the graphics solutions are inbuilt to the motherboard or available as separate boards because it is highly possible that dedicated graphics could exist as an inbuilt solution rather than a separate card - as long as it has a path to the Northbridge via PCIe lanes, it does not matter if it is external or internal.
