i'll try and explain this as best i can here.
the wife's work pal got an old lapop with a bt voyager 1060 wireless card that cannot find her router (talktalk/aol), but can find other ones(BT, sky), so no tinterweb, said try rebooting but still no joy, so she gave it to me and it connects fine to my tinternet no probs.
when i go to the connections on the taskbar it shows my connections and under preferred it show hers,
only getting bits of info, so next thing to try would be a router facory restore, dont even know if her router is fubar at the moment

Check that the settings for the card match those for the router. It's likely that the router is using a different protocol.

No expert, but have you checked that the router is broadcasting its SSID?

also, have you tried connecting the laptop to the router with a cable to see if that works?

Yup restore it and then if you can get into the router and see if any settings are screwed.
