Problem is this, one of the wife's work mates could not connect to the net (talktalk/aol). so wife brought the laptop to me and it connects just fine to my tinternet, so suggest it could be a problem with router and she brings that in,so hooks it up.
it finds the signal and it cant connect, reboots it, do factory restore, tried wired, changes channels, still nothing, still unsecured with no internet access,
but i can connect to an insecured network somewhere in my street. the router is a bt voyager 2100 with all lights working although the dsl light is intermittent.
any ideas.
**edit in contro, panel all connection are firewalled, turned it off and still no connection, but still connects with my sky router

just reset all harware in this order MODEM > ROUTER > PC/LAPTOP

what happens if you secure the router/network with a password ?

also check the router for mac address and ip filtering check to see if the comp when connected shows in the dhcp client list

Got to be an idiot to use an unsecured network anyway
right smart ****, my sky network is encrypted. it ' s when i set up the bt router it was coming up unsecure.

did not make any difference, turns out i cannot connect to sky network without a sky supplied router unless i flash it, and since it is not my router i have no intention of doing it.
